2004’acura tl thinking I got screwed on tranny rebuild?

OK I have a 2004 Acura TL and I had the transmission rebuilt by a friend kind of a friend and there was just a lot of BS that went on during this but besides that I got it back put it in and it still didn’t work I’m thinking that he just split the case and put a new ceiling on it and put it back together and painted it but I’d like your guts opinion. It’s really weird what it’s doing because it only moves in second gear if I put it in slap shift or if I put it in low it will try to move but other than that I have no other years I have no reverse and oddly enough when I go to put it in park I don’t even hear the parking Prawl engage and if I’m going from second up to reverse or park it will it’ll sit there and just grind. Does anyone else know of her having any problems like that it’s just really weird how it only moves in second but that’s it and won’t shift to third and if you put it in first it’s just like back to neutral the parking crawl is what really has me stumped because that’s mechanical I thought so why wouldn’t that be engaging did I just not hook something up right or I’m not too sure is my first time working on an Acura.
