1st trip to dealer after purchase
I bought my TL in June of '04 and made my 1st trip back to there(mainly because they are 2hrs away)to have them look at my rattling glovebox and pop-up storage compartments. The service writer was extreemley nice to me and gave me her '06TL to use for the day while they worked on my car(I will say that the later model seats are more comfortable than mine). When I returned she said that they were going to replace all of the above mentioned problems with new,and in her words, "re-designed" pieces. She also said that my problems are well documented from other owners of TL's,and she asked me about tires, and I told her that I wouldn't have bought this car without them switching out the dreaded Bridgestones, and she said that they have been replacing the tires right and left in the past year, but she didn't say with what brand. has anyone heard od of these "re-designed" pieces and do they make a difference? I'm skeptical, but hey, I'll give them a chance. Sorry for the rambling..just thought I'd share my 1st dealer trip involving service...over all I'd say they treated me like I was someone special.

That's great to hear that your experience with a dealership was of a positive nature. SB05-050 has all the info concerning abnormal tire wear. Here is the excerpt, though somewhat vague, regarding the re-designed tire.
TIRE REPLACEMENT INFORMATION
Use the Bridgestone Turanza EL 42 as the replacement tire. It has improved wear characteristics. The new and old tires can be identified by the construction codes (new: DY223i, old: DW315i or DU958i).
