08 Type-S Shifting Issue
Not sure if this is an issue or not. Just wanted to poll all you Type-S owners to see if your vehicle is acting the same.
I've had the car (Automatic) for a few months and hadn't noticed this, but when at a dead stop and accelerating normally, the engine revs loudly until it hits 2nd gear at ~ 3000rpm. Then going from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th, I can feel a definitely 'hard shift' throughout the car.
My question is do you guys definitely feel the shifting between 2nd, 3rd and 4th throughout the car? Or is can this be a possible transmission issue?
BTW, I had an 05TL and didn't notice this at all. The shifting was very smooth.

In full auto it's pretty smooth. I've really got to pay attention to count 3, 4 & 5.

I mean I can feel it, hear it and see it (on the Tachometer), but I've got to pay attention.
1st --> 2nd is easy to feel/hear by the engine and revs. 3rd --> 4th --> 5th, under light to moderate acceleration, is smooth and quiet enough that I'm often not sure if it is in 4th or 5th, since I didn't pay cloes enough attention to count through the gear changes.

Mine shifts very smooth going up, it's down that kind of irks me now and then.
For some reason, the ECM does not do a very good job of matching the engine speed to the wheel speed when downshifting to second. Every other gear it's dead on with little "clunk" or jerk. Kind of weird. I mean going down into 1st it does an amazing job in my opinion for the cost of the car, they just didn't get second gear right. It's got to be a timing issue and I wouldn't be surprised if they had a service bulletin on it. The IS we used to have had the same issue and they prompted one on it that took care of the problem.
This is on a 07' Type S and of course the description is using the manual mode.
