08 TLS AUTO Transmission
I was wondering if the 08 TLS auto transmission is messed up or just normal. Can someone give me some feed back please.
- first issue is that the response shift from 2nd to 3rd slightly delayed from the other gears with normal driving (not tip tronic). but when punching it without the tip tronic the shift from 2nd to third seems to be fine on the response.
- second issue is that the tip tronic is not the most accurate responsive shift right before redline. when punching the gas with tip tronic, it is likely to hit the rev limiter even when shifting before the redline.
- third issue is when comming to a complete stop while on tip tronic mode, the transmission does a slight thump when getting back on first gear.
I just want to know if anyone has or had this same thing on thier rides. if it is a problem i want to get it back to the dealer before my warranty ends. Thanks

Normal. There are a ton of threads covering this.
For the first issue, look for a thread titled "very interesting conversation with my trans builder". This details replacing the 3rd and 4th gear sensors for the 2-3 and 3-4. This should be regular maintenence on the TL since it's the cause for the majority of the trans failures.
Next is the fluid. It will give slightly better response and much better shifts in every gear. Look for "racing ATF" by "Inaccurate".
The delay from the time you tell it to shift to the time it actually shifts is normal and there's not much you can do about it but if you want much better shifts that will make the trans last much longer, read those two threads.
