hi i have a 08 acura tl type s with a 5spd auto i had an accident which hit my driver side and it was alot of damage

ok so i get the car back from the auto body then everything is ok for a week and then all of the sudden i can feel 2nd to 3rd gear was slipping a little bit

so i keep driving the car and the next day navi message pops up saying transmission failure and my manual shift does not even pop up and my D keeps lighting up.

so i call the auto body and they say it is the axel that went bad. i am not a person who knows alot about cars but does this sound like that is true and if anyone knows what can it be?

will i need a new tranny or is one of my gear sensors went bad? please anything would help thanks

 

Speak to the insurance company first, hopefully insurance covered the repair, as they will open the claim to compensate for the repair, then take it to the dealer to be diagnosed as it's possible the axle was driven into the transmission causing internal damage.
