'08 TL HIDs going bad?

So I was reading around and can to the conclusion that when your stock HIDs become pink it's time for new ones. My driver side hid has turned pink and since I've been a little low on funds I had to wait to order some new bulbs. Anyways so I've been driving around with my pink light but just last night I noticed now it's a blue! Like a 6k-8k color. Is this part of the dying procces for the bulb or is maybe just my ballast going bad? (Btw I've already ordered osram Xenarc cbi's should be here in a couple of days) so now I'm worried I just spent the money on the bulbs for nothing when it may be something else.

Sometimes the bulb fights lol. You should let an electrician check out your ballasts.

Normally, the Ballast do not go bad and if it does go bad, the light would not come on whatsoever. So no you did not waste money on bulbs. As HID bulbs age, the color differs so they really say replace in pairs. But one you replace them with the osrams, you should not have any color differ. My mom has a 2002 bmw 525i that she bought in 2004 with HID. 200k miles later and still using the factory hid bulbs. They get dim but they last a really long time.

its your bulbs. ballasts either work or they dont. if they work, then theres no reason to replace ballasts.
bulbs on the other hand will have weird effects when dying, like flickering, not turning on, or changing colors

It's the bulbs that are going bad that are causing the color to change. Just remember to take your time with the new bulbs and wear gloves! Don't touch the actual glass part of the bulbs!
