'07 Type S - road noise

I bought my type s a couple weeks ago and am having issues with road noise. On certain roads it can be brutal and after a couple semi long road trips I've returned home with ears ringing. The few guys I've talked to said their type s was overall pretty quiet. The tires I have on now are sumitomo po2 w rated. Is it likely just the tires or is it just the stiffer suspension on the type s?? My 04 base TL was noticeably quieter than this.

Heck I even used a sound meter app and at speeds 65-75mph it was showing 81-86 decibels. Looked at a website earlier that stated an 07 TL at 70mph should be something like 72db. I know I'm being nit picky. Guess I'll look into better tires

One more for tires. I have it, too. My tires (Yokohama S Drives) still have plenty of tread on them, but are feathering due to the aggressive suspension setup--A-spec shocks with Tein S Tech springs and RSB upgrade.

i only chose those becuz I got a significant discount and they got really good reviews on tirerack. Noise comfort rated at 8.3 vs the 5.something for the Bridgestones. Next set will be michelins or continentals tho

+12345678910 for tires, i went through all the major name brand and finally narrow down to Continental, Michellin and Dunlop for low noise.

Conti's are great tires.Have the DWS on the AMG.The type S is due for tires in about six months.Probably go with some Michelins or the Conti's.Go with the best don't scrimp on tires!

any good tire can be terribly loud due to a bad alignment or worn suspension components! Get the alignment done when buying new tires!

I agree I am going through this now with my Type S. Get an alignment to check out things before you buy new tires, it could be your car is out of alignment and is causing all the road noise. The alignment is not very expensive.

I think if the alignment is out enough to make road noise on your tires, it'll be pretty obvious that you're wearing them very badly.
No wheel bearing noise starting, right?
Why don't you borrow a friend's wheels and swap for a day to see if your car is quiet.
