'07 TL - Type S leather seats tearing

HI Everyone
I have a 07 TL with a small tear in the front passenger seat. Its a 2 tone seat with silvery gray perforated leather in the middle. It's starting to tear and I dont know how to go about fixing it.

Anyone have a similar problem? Is the material available to repair it or do I need to buy a whole new seat cover? I took it to the dealer and its $560 just for the bottom seat cover for the one seat. That seems like a rip off & that doesnt even count the installation cost. Looking for another idea.

I have an appt at an upholstery place tomorrow, so I will see what they say. The guy that was there today said there is no way to match the leather, but I am meeting with the main guy tomorrow.

Any ideas welcome! I absolutely love my car and its making me really sad that there is now this imperfection..

An auto upholstery shop can fix most cuts in leather and make it look like it was never there. Call up your local BMW dealership or MB dealer and ask who they use for upholstery repairs.
