'07 Acura TL-S squeaking when driving goes away when braking
I've got an 07 tl-s and i hear a squeaking noise come randomly at times which is really high pitched coming from the driver's side front brakes i am assuming and when i brake it goes away and when i let off the brake it comes right back. Once i come to a complete stop it goes away or it will by itself as i'm driving i have no idea what it is ive showed it to a couple of mechanics and they don't know what it could be because it isn't a constant squeak it comes after driving for a little bit and when it does its really loud and annoying. Please help and let me know what it could be!

Mechanics are telling me to replace rotors and pads but they are all fine and it only sounds like its my driver side front wheel i might be wrong my only guess is the rotor might be the problem because there are spotty rust spots but i doubt that's it because like i said its and on and off high pitched squeak

dude i have the same exact problem.. i also started a thread yesterday and same here every time i take it to the mechanic it goes away.. ill be lifting my car today to trouble shoot on my own . ill keep you posted.. if possible maybe you can shoot a video from inside the car while driving in a tunnel or next to a wall.. so i can hear the sound..good luck btw

alright man yeah that'll be great, and yeah ill take a video when i get the chance. i put my car on the lift also and like i said the sound comes randomly at times so when i rotate the wheels to try and hear it i can't even hear or see where it comes from

Did either of you get to the bottom of what was causing your noise?
Because I'm having the exact same problem, front right. Pads are nowhere near the wear indicators, rotor recently turned. I can't see anything that would be rubbing anywhere either. I'm at a loss at what could be causing it...

Try regreasing the calliper, take it off put grease on the shims, around the piston on the top and bottom of the brake pads, that should significantly fix the problem. If you still want to diagnose it, jack up the center subframe and put the car in drive and hear for the noise, make sure the rear brakes are on. gl.

While driving (~20mph) press they brakes lightly and let go....if they squeal when you applied pressure and continue to squeal after you let go, then your pads are prolly fine, you need to put some brake grease....
If they squeal and stop squealing then they are your wear indicators....

My pads have plenty of material left and are nowhere near the wear indicators. Plus I know from experience what those sound like , and that's not the kind of noise I'm hearing.

I applied grease to the back of the shims and brake quiet between pad and shim, then bedded them in again. Still getting the noise. I'm going to try to grease more parts - especially where the pins contact the retainer clip and where the retainer clip contacts the pads.

I do not want to make another thread since its already made.
I too have experience the same problem. Whenever the car is in drive it squeaks, even if I press little on the gas. But dies down whenever i press on the breaks. It sounds like its coming from the front driver side. I was wondering if anyone solve this problem.

Greasing them normally does the trick. I had the same problem and thats what everyone told me to do. I was in the market for new brakes anyways so I just bought new ones but greased those too just to be sure.

Expensive and unnecessary if inspection reveals enough material is left on the pads and the rotors are fine.
Brake quiet between pad and shim, a little bit of grease between shim and pistons, grease on retainer pins where they contact the retainer clip, and where the retainer clip contacts the pads (be sure not to get grease on the pad material or the rotor). My problem went away after a couple of days.
