Engine noise on startup and idle
My car just hit 140k miles...my engine used to be so quiet that people would have to get up close to make sure it was even running..not so much anymore.
When I first start up my car, the dash and the entire car shakes a little bit for about 2 minutes...I think its because the oil hasnt quite coated the internal parts yet and maybe it just needs some revolutions to get it done...after that, the car is fine and runs good.
I've noticed that its pretty loud while idling too. I dont want to say its making a knocking noise because that is pretty pronounced but I would say its making a noise similar to that, just not as extreme.
anyway, I was wondering if there are any adjustments that need to be done to my engine that might help alleviate some of these noises?
timing chain has already been done at 120k. Btw, these noises I am hearing are with the AC/heater off.

Could be a little valve or injector noise. I have a 2007 type S with 115k and the injectors are a bit noisier than I'd like, but nothing I'm concerned about. I can only hear it with the windows rolled down. Inside the cabin with windows up, A/C and radio off, it's fairly quiet.
If you can, attach an audio clip/link so we can hear exactly what noises your concerned about.

Could be due for tensioner/pulley and belt replacement.
Timing chain? You sure the timing belt and tensioner was done?
As for the shake, it happens only at idle or around 1500rpm? At cold idle, engine stays around 1500.
MT or AT?

I'd also check to make sure all your spark plugs are tight. It MAY or may not be a similar issue to this: https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...n-plug-912131/
If all your plugs are tight then may be a valve adjustment issue, did you do one during TB service?
