'06 TL Transmission

My tranny is slipping. When I'm driving it just slips into neutral and revs. I immediately had it serviced but that didn't fix it. It started slipping again the same day I picked it up. It has 155K miles on it. Now the problem is what to do? I have been quoted $4k for a rebuild by 2 different shops. And I live in Hawaii so I'm having a difficult time finding a tranny here. I've located a 2nd hand one with around 80k miles but its going to be about $1800 for the tranny and shipping to Hawaii PLUS I still have to pay for install (about $1k). Should I have it rebuilt? Or try and save about $1k and get a used one?

Get it rebuilt. If you find a used transmission its history is unknown to you. It could fail in 1k miles or 100k.

I had mine rebuilt for 2300 but that included replacing all my engine and transmission mounts.
