06 TL Base Auto Starting Issues after Trans Rebuild
Backstory:
2006 Acura TL Base with 154K. Had the transmission rebuilt 2K miles ago by a less than reputable source, but it's all I could afford and the guy was offering a one year warranty. I regret choosing this guy now but lesson learned. Taking it back to this guy is not an option.
Im not sure if this issue is related to the transmission rebuild, but I believe it may be. Sometimes when I go to start my car the car will not start. Battery is fine and starter is fine.
When I'm having the starting issue the symptom is the red Park light on the cluster and the green D on the cluster are both lit. Sometime I can hear a louder click coming from the trans when trying to start it. Usually I play with the shifter a bit and then it will start. Sometimes it's pretty quick to start. Other times it takes me running it through the shift selector maybe 10 times before I get it to start. Sometimes the car doesn't want to shift out of park so I have to cycle the key to get it out of park to begin cycling through the gears.
I'm thinking range selector on the trans, neutral safety switch or park solenoid? Was hoping somebody had the lit red park and lit green drive at the same time causing there no crank so I don't have to mess around in the cold too much.

slightly off position range switch sensor will cause the car to jerk during shift from d to reverse, however if they completely put it wrong position then I don't know how it will acts (which I hoping this is not the case since they are specialize in AT). Neutral switch you can try by if the car has hard time starting then keep playing from D to N and see if the car start.
