06 TL auto lunges forward when I start

I have a 06 TL auto with 23602 miles on it. I have noticed the last few day when I start it, it seems to lunge forward a little bit. The fluid levels are fine I changed the fluid at about 18-19k when I bought the car. It has been cold here I dont know if that makes a difference but none of my other vehicles have done this(at least I dont remember) what do you think could be causing this has anyone else had this problem. Thanks

Randy

Turn on the car without holding the brake and let it move forward, then shift into neutral. After that lightly apply the parking brake and turn off the car. Then restart (the key won't come out) and see if it lunges forward.

the ac isnt on its like 5 below zero here. I will try the neutral parking brake thing in the morning I really only seem to notice it in the morning when i start the car to go to class. I will report back tomorrow when I get home from class. Thanks. what happens tho if it lunges with the pbrake on. The car doesn't lunge hard its more or a rocking forward not sure if there is a difference.

Thanks again

its makes a slight difference, have a buddy start the car with the hood open. See how far the motor moves forward. .5 of an inch is normal. Anything beyond that points to a broken or failing motor mount.

Was just about to say motor mount.. I wonder how much the temperature has affected the pliability of the mount. I bet in those temps the mount has stiffened and shrunk in size which may be a reason for the engine lunging or rocking your car... once the engine warms up the engine bay and you drive I bit it probably becomes less rigid and returns to spec.

Well, I started my car and nothing happened didn't lunge forward at all. I guess it had a little white coat syndrome. Well I don't get it and i don't like it I will have my wife start it and ill check to see if the engine moves. Just have to find a way to get her out and help me shes not a friend of cold weather all 115lbs of her. Its warming up a little bit its about 2 degrees out now so we will see.

thanks for the help
