Recently changed my rear brakes. I noticed that my driver side rear rotor had some unusual wear to it when I replaced it. After the replacement everything seemed have been fine, then a few days later it started making a noise. A rotating clicking noise. I took everything apart and it seemed to be wear funny again. When I would spin the rotor it seemed be hitting a high point so i figured the rotor might have a slight warp to it, also because I could feel it shake a little when driving. Pins slide easy, and the caliper seems to be working just fine and it flush. It seems to be wearing more towards the center of the rotor. The brakes are the ones I just swapped out and the rotor has around 2 days of drive time on it.
Bad calipers can cause that. The TL rear brake calipers need to be changed along with rotors. I just had them eat through my fairly thick akebono pads so i replaced both for good measure.

corrosion from not changing the brake fluid every 2-3 years causes the calipers to fail!
