06 MT VSA keeps "locking" front left tire on left turns

My VSA keeps locking down on my front left tire during almost any left turn from sharp left turns to highway cloverleaf turns. It's downright scary at times. After the incident(s) the VSA light and warning light come on permanently indicating the VSA has been disabled. It resets after the car is turned off and on.

When it happens it sounds like several rocks are lodged between the caliper and the rotor and the car immdiately jerks left. I know this sound description isn't possible, but it's the best way to describe the problem.

1. Anyone experience this?
2. Should I be concerned about damage to other parts associated with the issue?

A couple of posters have had their VSA sensors replaced; try a search for "sensor" and "wheel".
Go to the dealer to have the car checked ASAP. If dealer can't diagnose it now, go to dealer again the next time the warning lights are on.
