05TL Issue with dome lights

I recently got my drive belt, tensioner and idler pulleys replaced and ever since then I've had issues with my dome lights. Whenever the A/C and the dome lights are on and the radiator turns on the dome lights become dim just for a very brief second and then return back to normal. I waited a couple of days just to see if this was a recurring issue before I took it to the forums. I wasn't able to find any thread that described my issue hence why I'm seeking help. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

If it helps, the vents to my A/C started making this chirping noise. I also inspected the replaced tensioners and found that there is a slight wobble/vibration and was assured that this was normal(?) Thanks again!

No.. sounds like they forgot a shim or something... OEM belt and tensioners? Or ?.

Drive belt runs the alternator so that explains the dimming too.. it's all related luckily for you

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but I think you're saying that that when the A/C compressor kicks in, your dome light briefly dims. That's completely normal... my TL does it, and every other car I've owned does it. It's just due to the voltage temporarily dropping when there's the extra load of the compressor starting (similar to house lights dimming when the house A/C starts, turning on a vacuum, etc). I assume you're noticing it when you're parked and idling, and not that all your lights dim when you're driving down the road? If your engine is at higher RPMs, you shouldn't notice it as much (nor would you likely be driving with the dome light on all the time).

As far as I'm aware, neither of the replacement parts were OEM. Might as well take it back to my guy and see what he says. Thanks!

That actually makes me feel a lot better lol. I only got concerned because prior to changing the belt and tensioners, I haven't had this issue at all so once I noticed it I figured there was something wrong.

Can non-OEM parts cause this to happen?
