I've got a 2005 TL with 53k miles (less than 3 years old); it makes a rattling noise from the rear passenger side whenever it drives over a bump or rough terrain.

A friend of mine says he believes this is the problem with the shocks on that side.

Questions:
1. Is this out of warranty?
2. Should I ask the dealer to look at it or go to an independant shop? I dont want to be ripped off on the diagnosis part of the problem

 

its prob. the dampers in the struts.....id have it looked at and acura had a service bulletin regarding this noise and it corrected it....but they would have to consider u to be eligible for the service to be done.....just be nice to the service manager and they may just help u out.

 

i have an 05 as well and have the same noise. except that i get a lot of body roll and swaying when i go voer a bump/dip its scary on the freeway.

thinking it could be a blown strut, but i push the car down on all sides and it feels about the same. ill have to take a look though. anyone know if there is any difference btwn 05 and 06 base suspension>?

 

I am getting something similar. When I go over bumps in my 06 TL I feel it in the steering wheel. I almost feels like a bad strut or strut mount or a bad mount of some sort. I've taken it to 2 different dealerships & they both don't feel it. It feels like the front end is about to fall out.
