Unhappy 05 TL approaching 100k

Hey guys,

My 05 6MT has been great to me I haven't had a problem besides replacing the clutch @ 70k because the previous owner couldnt drive stick apparently

Anyway - I'm approaching 100k miles will probably hit it by the end of next week and am wondering what I should be planning for tune ups. I asked the guy at the garage when I got my winter tires put on and he said timing belt and water pump weren't until 120k for TLs. I haven't done anything to the car other than rear brakes, tires and change the oil every 3k miles and I've had it since 60k. Suggestions? Am I missing something hugely important?
Thanks

Timing belt, water pump, etc are due for replacement at 105K

I would recommend replacing the components now rather than later as noted by paz840. No sense in putting these things off and trying to wait until 105k for this. I recommend that even more since you had said the previous owner did not not know how to drive a MT car. Who knows if that was the case or if they just beat the hell out of it! i would change all mentioned above if I had my car headed to the shop for something minor. It seems to me as if you are very meticulous and anal, So why not do so?

Thank you Paz, for the link. I took a look at it and it was almost comical because if you knew me I don't even change my own oil..lol

So the question is do I go to the dealer for this tune up or find a reputable garage? Anyone know of one in the Hartford, CT to Old Saybrook, CT area?

First of all, welcome to Azine. Second, this subject has been discussed literally hundreds of times. A simple search for "timing belt" would have provided the answers to all of your questions rather than starting a separate thread:

The MID will tell you. When you get a "4" and the "Service due now" message on the MID, you are due for a timing belt and spark plug change and valve inspection. This usually happens around 105K. Many folks also replace the water pump, belt tensioner, and idler pulley. Acura dealers will be the most expensive. Honda dealers will be a bit lower. Indy shops may or may not be even cheaper. Ask each what kind of warranty they offer on the TB change. Kaleb at Prestige Acura (Azine vendor) has a deal on parts for $295 (link above).

Look in your owner's manual, pg 199:
