my tl transmission died or failed on a trip.
I had to pull over then I thought i would restart ad see if i could limp into a town
found out i could go as hard as i wanted if i shut the engine off for 30 seconds
but that would only last 2 minutes then turn off again
help!!

 

get a new transmission?

 

Check fluid condition. Any other symptoms, lights, etc? What is it doing at the 2 minute mark? Smoking? Spewing fluid? Flashing D?

 

i will check to make sure but what i do know it fades out kind of slowly
also i didn't see flashing d but i will look

 

i test drove it today id doesn't loose tranny fluid it seams reddish still no special lights like flashing d
it is solid til it starts its drop out cycle and then it goes to 0 motion
if i start it with out going anywhere and let it idle for couple minutes when already warmed up it has 0 motion when i put it in gear
if i start it cold and leave it idle for 5-10 min then put it in gear then i have 0 motion
shut it off for a min it will go
