'04 TL misfires around 30-40 MPH

i hit a puddle and the car died but i got it started up right away and then the check engine light came on and has been misfireing since... brought my tl in for a engine diagnostic and the said cylinder 1 coil pack and all plugs where bad so i replaced them all and it still misfires. its a 2004 acura tl with 90k on it.

please!

more details.

you hit a puddle?
do you have a cold air intake?
how deep was this puddle?

I would do a compression check and a leak down test.

If you hit a puddle and the engine shut off and you restarted it, that's not good.

FYI any time the car shuts off after hitting a puddle, NEVER try to turn it back on. Push it out of the way and get it towed to a shop. What happens is that the engine injests water and tries to compress it and light it on fire to make the motor turn. However water does not ignite and CANNOT be compressed. When you try to start the car, the starter manually turns the motor and put a strain on all the parts.

It sounds like you may have bent something trying to restart the car. Go to your mechanic and have them do a compression test. If one or two of the #'s are low, you've located the problem cylinders.

Hydolocking a stock car. I have driven cars thru water 2-3 feet deep, water comming in from the water being over the bottom of the door. I can't believe people are hydolocking engines so easily on the TL. I am thinking you must have to drive into 18 inch + water to get to the stock intake.

when you plow through a deep puddle the water will rise up and over any offending objects:

With someone driving and going through a deep enough puddle the motor will suck up water! And once the water goes in, with a compression ratio of 11:1 it's easy to cause a stall and then bend stuff when the car goes though water.
