Hello everyone. I'm looking at my girls 2004 TL auto trans with 122kmiles
Yesterday she broke down and when I got to it the thing had no forward or reverse movement. It has no gear slipping or noises, just feels like its in neutral while actually being in gear. We left it on the street and when I came back with my truck the damn car drove on the trailer just fine, and reversed off fine when we were home. The next morning I went to check it out and no movement again.
I verified the shit linkage was working down to the trans.
I just saw the thread with the guy who had sheared axle splines, I'm goin to lift it and check them now.

Anyone experience this or have any feedback suggestions it would be appreciated

 

Also there is no codes when scanned with a generic obd2 scanner.
And the trans fluid is moderately burnt

 

Ok. Checked axles and they are good. When front end is lifted off the ground the wheels spin with forward and reverse, but not when lowered.
I'm beginning to think this trans is trash lol

 

Most likely it's done. I would pull the drain plug and see if it has a lot of material on it.
