Arrow 04 TL Automatic Trans not shifting into Manual Mode

Hello everyone. A new TL owner here. I just bought an 04 TL Navi with 49K. On my second day of ownership, I went to move the transmission from automatic to "manual". The indicator light showed the switch to "manual", but the gear number indicator did not light up. It also did not respond when I downshifted or upshifted. The tranny remained in fully automatic mode and shifted on it's own normally. I went back and forth a couple of times from manual to auto, it never went into "manual" mode. I then parked the car for about an hour, and when I returned and tried it again, it worked the way it should. Went right into "manual" mode, displayed the gear selected, and upshifted and downshifted without a problem. Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, was it resolved? Thanks in advance!

that is very odd, i would take that to the dealer beacuse it could be a signs of the car's electronics either being bad of the car being in an accident.

I can rule out the accident. Original body panels and paint all around. Yes, the dealer will have to look at it. Drove it tonight, without incident.

The Dealer has checked out the transmission and has found no problems, no codes, nothing. And was unable to duplicate the symptom. So, I will just have to see what happens in the future.

The electronics in there are really simple. Basically its 4 micro switches... Thats especially odd that it would recognize you were in "M" but not display the gear you were in...
