'04 Base 5AT trans toast?!
whats up guys yesterday i was driving home from work and as i was stuck in the usual traffic i start accelerating and the car shifts fine into 2nd, very rough shift into 3rd, and nonexistent 4th. So i drove to a local Acura dealer and picked up the 3rd and 4th pressure switches and swapped them out(2nd time ive done this). The switch swap fixed the 3rd gear shift issue, however didnt fix the 4th gear issue. Im thinking the trans is toast but i would like 2nd opinions... as of now, when im in 3rd, it will accelerate fine but then at about 35 mph, it will lose power and decel sporatically.

Fluid was changed prior to me purchasing the car(so they said) at 124000... it now has 174xxx... and to my knowledge that is the original trans... the fluid as of last year was still very clean fluid. now it doesnt look so good

unfortunately the only fluid the local autostores in my area carry castrol maxx... it says on the back of the bottle it is compliant with atf-z1 fluid. i will keep u updated i have to work tonight but im not going to drive it for work as i dont wanna risk it breaking down so far away from my house. i will take it for a long drive tomorrow around my garage and home to test drive it.
