'04 6MT: Trouble shifting to 3rd WOT
This is for MANUAL not automatic:
I just noticed a problem this morning, I have been taking it easy on my car lately but today I decided to push it a bit. Off the line I have no problem shifting into 2nd gear at WOT, but once I reach 5-6k rpm in 2nd and try to shift into 3rd the rpms hit the redline and bounce and I cannot shift into 3rd unless I slow down. It feels as though once I push the clutch down and ease off the gas to shift into 3rd the engine continues to rev and the clutch is not disengaging. I am only having this problem at WOT, normal driving there is no issue. I know if I completely let off the gas the car will not redline so I just think there is an issue with the clutch not engaging or disengaging. I'm hoping someone has had this issue before and I don't have to replace my clutch

I'm going to guess that you have a bad synchro.
It is probably only slightly worn, since you have no problem shifting any other time than full throttle and high RPM's (when the synchro has to work the hardest), so you would not notice it until now, when you pushed the car. However, it can only get worse. Go ahead and fix it now, when you have the time, otherwise it may get a lot worse.

I have never had a problem shifting into any gear, low rpm or WOT. My car still chirps in 2nd. But again I haven't pushed my car like this for a few months.
