04-06 Different Headlights?

i hit something on the highway that cracked my bumper, dented my fender, and cracked the inside of my headlight....anyways i bought a used headlight and it must of been from an 04..or an 05, but not from on 06 because when i went to put the HID from my old one into the other one, i ran into a big problem.

the HID ballast's mounting is different and mine would not fit on the other headlight, the screws are mismatched...so i look and indeed there is a big difference in the mold that holds it, i know they do this shit on purpose so it's not compatible, but i didn't think they'd do it on a headlight.

the only other visual difference between that one and mine is that the other one says HONDA in the middle bottom of the front, and mine does not.

no, ppl know about this they just haven't posted. yea, the headlights are different as u found out the hard way. the headlights from the 04 and 05 are the same. from 06 and up i don't know which ones are the same, try running a search/pm'ing some bm's/calling a stealership/emailing a vendor.

they do it on puropse so that they make sure it's not compatible...it's not the 1st time i've seen this...on an old 85 honda, which was the same as a 86, had a slightly different size wheel bearing so it just won't fit...they do it to make more money from parts i guess....
