Angry *****Sunroof issue-please HELP!!!!*****

Hello,

I own an '07 tl type-s black on black with two toned leather. Love the car although I have been having some issues lately. One issue that the dealer could not fix and are getting in touch with Honda about is the sunroof. For some reason the sunroof is working great going back and forth but will not TILT.

Any reasons why this is? For instance, when I push in the sunroof switch nothing happens, but the rest of the sunroof works perfectly fine. The dealer is hard pressed to find an answer also.

Any help???

If it goes back and forth but doesnt tilt, most likely it is a switch, either the main switch or limit switch that tells the motor to stop while tilting. Because it moves we know its not a motor problem.

Since it's not tilting at all, I'd go with the main control switch in the cabin.

You can always check the switch from pin 2 to pin 1, or if you want to pay attention to the wiring it will be from the Green/Orange wire to the Green/White wire. when you press the button for the tilt function continuity should drop to zero if the switch is good.

With the tab on top while looking at the pins, the first pin on the left will be pin 7 then counting down for each of the pins going to the right.

But if you want to just order the switch, $22 isnt that bad. I have to order other switches for my car that went bad.

Before ordering a new switch, it's worth 30 seconds of time to pop the sunroof switch out with a thin feeler gauge or knife blade, disconnect the plug, examine the pins (per post #6 above) and reconnect the switch to see if a bad connection was preventing the pop-up function.

Kinda worries me that you guys know more than my dealer (I'm not saying you're stupid and shouldn't know), aren't they supposed to be the so called "expert"? Scary....

they should be the experts, buthey do have people working there that dont really "know anything". they barely got by in school and only know how to do brakes and oil changes.
