Why those w/o NBP should have reconsidered.

Because after washing, polishing, and waxing your car...
How are you EVER gonna get a shine like this????

haha j/k
Just posting pics of my car.

Yes..yes...i know...it's stock-tastic. And disregard the nasty tires... I ran out of tire shine

Nice. Exactly why I got NBP as well! By the way, what products did you use?

1. Wash: Meguiars NXT Generation Car Wash
(after drying w/ california water blade and microfiber towels
2. Paint Cleaner: Meguiars Deep Crystal System Paint Cleaner
3. Polish: Meguiars Deep Crystal System Polish
4. Wax: Mothers FX Engineered SynWax (I normally use Meguiars NXT Wax, but they ran out of it)

There is NOTHING that shines like a clean black car.

The car looks great! Nice job. I would have gotten NBP but I'm picky about the car looking clean all the time, so I went with SSM instead. Have never regretted it, since it hides dirt and dust significantly better than NBP. I also use Meguiar's NXT wash, and will now get some of their polish and get mine a little more shiny. Thanks for sharing the pics!

I agree, when all shined up NBP looks gorgeous. The problem is the maintenance required in keeping it looking that way. Black paint requires a tremendous amount of work to keep it looking nice especially after it rains, snows etc. Not to mention all the swirl marks you have to deal with.... Lookin' good though. Now all you need it some tire wet and a drop!

munchkin: if i had the $$, i'd be doing mods left and right, but since i'm only 20 and a lot of the money i make during the schoool yr/summer internship goes into maintaining my own house (yup..i own my own house, and i'm 20. talk about growing up fast hahah) However, to answer your question, my future mods include 35% tints all around (although illegal here in jersey), wheels (debating 18" or 19"), RonJon body kit, AEM CAI, comptech exhaust, A-Spec suspension (with drop..mebbe .75 - 1" all around...mebbe more depending on the wheels), LEDs for the interior, cleared headlights (i know...i can do these last two myself, but i just don't have the time now).

sweatinmyac: I know...i need to go out and get some tire protectant haha.

And yeah, NBP is extremely hard to maintain, it's only been 2 days, and there's already dust and water marks on the car

thanks for the comments guys.

Thumbs up

Very nice choice!!! I also have NBP and i will always have a black car if not all will be black b/c as many people say..."you cannot beat the shine of a black car after it's washed" Don't even mention waxing it!!! It's not a problem for me keeping my "Black Beauty" clean b/c i take my car to my detailer guy atleast every week and a half - 2 weeks. I'm going to try and do it myself. The only thing is i stay so busy during the week and by the time the weekend comes i don't feel like doing anything. So it's a lot easier to just have it done. I just my 05TL last Tuesday. When i picked it up they washed, waxed, and simonized the car. Just on this past Monday, i had it washed and got it polished! Still looking GREAT!!!

I just have one complaint... that interior should have been Camel! Just kidding... hey you still have a TL that's what matters!

It removes oxidation, light scratches & swirls, blemishes & etchings, and restores damaged and dull finishes. (I read this off the bottle haha)

I try to wash my car every other week or so (i'd do it every week if i had that much time )
I usually use it once a month. I think you can use it more, but once a month or so is good enough for me.

Laxaplaya11385 - car is looking awesome!

I would be cautious using the paint cleaner too often. Use it only when you need it as clearcoat paint is easy to scratch. Black paint makes it really easy to see any imperfections! If you keep your paint protected with wax, you really shouldn't need to clean your paint often at all. If you really want to get your paint as smooth as glass, use clay.

NBP is a really awesome color and is a definite head turner. But like everyone has mentioned, that baby requires more upkeep than other colors. You should visit the Wash & Wax forum for more info and tips about exterior and interior maintenance. A good place to start would be the Ultimate Car Care FAQ and also sites like Autopia and Better Car Care have "How To" tips.

The only problem with our black, is that after washing and waxing for a whole afternoon, it only takes five minutes to get dirty again

Yea you're right dezzzmond!!! The only thing with that is the smearing that it leaves behind when you first get it. I'm holding off on the actual car duster. However, i purchased the duster for the dash over the weekend and tried it out and it works great, however, it just smears the residue over the surface. So after i removed little dust that was on the dash, etc... i wrapped it in paper towels and later that day i wish you all could have seen how much residue was on the freakin' towel!!!

I'm sorry, but I don't have the guts to wipe something over my paint when it's dirty/dusty. Sounds like a good way to scatch the s#$t out of your paint.

I only use the duster when i know that the dirt is on the surface, i.e. pollen. Any other type of dirt/dust needs to be washed off. It is also a good idea to use it after a good wax or when you know the wax is still good.
