Weekend Projects (Ron Jon with fogs & intake install)
Started on this Friday after work and finished it up Saturday. First project involved cleaning up the fog light install on my gals Ron Jon bumper. Originally I had the fog light mounted behind the mesh against the opening in the bumper and braced with a little aluminum bracket.
I've always wanted to redo them but she liked the way it looked. I finally convinced her to let me redo them and I think the end results are a lot cleaner. I first started off with a card board template to make my "bezels/mounts" for the fogs then I traced it over to some thin sheet metal and went to town with my Dremel
. After I had them cleaned up I powder coated them but was not happy with the finish so I wrapped them with some cf vinyl wrap. I'm going to probably end up ordering some thin carbon fiber I've see online that has a little flexibility to it and make some new bezels out of it. For now I think these will do.
I also powder coated the mesh so no more worries about the paint chipping/flaking off. We also just had the bumper wrapped in nano fusion to lessen the chance of rock chips.
Sorry about the quality of the pics they were taken at night with my phone.

Little tabs I used to secure the fogs. I'm using some stuff called Qbond to hold them in place it's like JBWeld on roids.

I will be taking some nice shots of the car sometime this week. This is what previous fogs looked like.

After finishing up the fog install I installed her new AEM intake. Going to pull off the TB this week and powder coat it as it's an eye sore.

Wow man-outstanding job. You should PM Rondy from RonJon and send him the link for this, so he can see this.
Best of luck on the carbon fiber wrapping inside the engine compartment. I tried and couldn't get it done OR to look good.

jptl04-Thanks man I appreciate it. I could polish the tb but after polishing my why wheels in the past I kinda hate doing it even with having a buffer with various buffs and compounds in the garage lol.
I have a little powder coat setup at home so it would be easier and quick for me to powder coat.
murph145- Not doing the rest of the kit. We like the way the RJ front looks with the aspec sides and rear.
