Now let's go back to where it all started in 2017

I was 16 didn't have too much money coming in as I wasn't working as many hours yet so I wanted to do a few cheap mods whether they were rice or not is up to you 😂

got a sti front lip and some Koning oversteers in 17x8.5 with tein a tech springs

terrible picture but ended up getting some depo tails ,a endless rpm rood spoiler, and 35% tint all around

The rest of this is probably going to be in no specific order but eventually got a full a spec kit and some bc coilovers
then I moved onto cleaning up the interior

Swapped in carbon trim and black armrests

Did black plastics and carpet

Completed the black swap and used type s door panels

Found rare carbon trim at the junkyard

That's where most of my interior came from super clean actually jsut was easier to get out the headliner by cutting windshield

(I do have two working Hfl's but took it out to be safe)

Next up was performace I had bought a used xlr8 catback on here from another member a while back named yungmoola if I remember right then got a dc cai and that was fine for about a year but after the interior I wanted to start my journey to fbo so did ported and polished everything along with spacers

How it started

Manifold and tb we're ported at home not perfect but extremely smooth in person and got them pretty big (I've heard smooth isn't always best for intake parts but I feel the gains so I'm happy for the $20 spent on carbide burrs)

Rv6 j pipe

Runners ported by halferland performance

Nice job, Very clean for an ‘04, and nice upgrades!

Where did you find the carbon door panel pieces? I need some, but we don’t have junkyards with TL’s here in Tampa.

Thank you! I did find them in a junkyard but I've seen them for sale on Facebook just look for people parting out I've also seen them on eBay but kind of expensive because most people only want to sell the whole door panel. I'll have to look at the junkyard see if I can find more may be able to help you. I've also heard of a place in miramar Florida call Acura parts Depot that parts out tls they may be able to help

The emblem looks nice I like it and it was actually very easy to go take apart and paint.

For the audio setup I just bought stuff to get it done but now I want to go back and re do most of it

So all my wiring is sky high car audio ofc it's some of the best wire you can get especially for the price

The sub is a sundown audio sa12 wired to 1 ohm in a custom slot ported box I built it's louder than any kicker setup I've heard with 2 12s it's rated at 750w but will take over 1200 all day no problems (this isn't my opinion it's proven facts)
The amp is a Rockford Fosgate r1200-1d it's their prime line pretty cheap and puts out rated power just fine but I want more power so going to the new down4sound jp23 amp this amp is actually perfect for the tl though voltage never dips below 13.8 and I haven't even done the big 3

this is a pic from when I designed the box I didn't like how it had had a few of the pieces going together so that's not exactly how it turned out but it's pretty close to it

little view of the port coming out the side

For speakers inside I've got the Polk db651 all around and some model of pioneer for the center channel but I hear it's no longer going to work when I do a double din and aftermarket amp. I bought the polks when I first got the car because I read they were one of the only ones that fit but now after looking in the door I can fit a lot bigger so going to be upgrading those soon not sure which speaker I want though.
Stock amp will be upgraded whenever I decide on speakers.
The polks are good if you want a cheap replacement that sound pretty good and the sa12 Is loud I've got the trunk covered in sound deadner and still don't turn it up cause I'm pretty sure my duckbill is going to fly off eventually
Its a good budget setup for sure but I want to build a fourth order badpass box next with maybe two sa 8s but I'm gonna have to do measurements to see if it's even possible.

Dude that would be awesome! I just need the door panel pieces. I have the OEM carbon steering wheel. If you find any let me know. I’ll gladly buy them from you.

Thanks for the heads up on the place in Florida, I’m going to look there now.

Also, just to add, when you do mount the type-s front sway bar to your 2004, you’ll have to drill out the holes, where the end links fit the OEM control arms. They’re slightly larger. I’ll have to look for the exact size. It’s been awhile since I did that modification. I do know the type s end links are a little larger than our 2004’s...

Thanks I did hear about that I may just swap the whole arm as I want to do a Brembo swap anyways and I'll let you know if I find any should be pretty cheap also

Nice audio set up. Only dropping to 13.8 without even touching underhood grounds is nice!

I'm familiar with those polks. Used them in previous budget builds for friends. I'm sure you can't wait to get some serious mids/highs with the added bass. I'm running Focal Access 165 comps front/rear with 150x2 up front and 75x2 for the rear and I still want to go bigger.

I hear you on the sound deadening material. I'm running a JL 12W7 on a 1000/1 and I made sure to place multiple layers of 80mil sound deadening material on the trunk, trunk lid, inner quarter panels, rear deck inside and out, doors, door skins, floor, literally everywhere except the roof. It's a never ending battle to eliminate rattles lol

Yeah can't wait to get something good I've got a box of 70mil deadening but have only done the trunk lid so far so I need to get back in there and finish the rest. I love those w7 just wish they weren't so expensive. And that's actually one of the reasons I chose that amp was efficiency cause I didn't want to have to worry about keeping voltage up but I did buy extra cable to do everything under the hood I just haven't had to and not worried about. I hear some year of odyssey has a higher output alternator so I may go to that whenever this one gives out to keep it in the 14s

I used layers and layers of 80 mil and Ensolite foam where it made sense (doors, floor, trunk floor, quarter panels, etc) and I'm pretty happy with the results. When I knock on my trunk its like knocking on a brick.

I feel you on the W7 cost. I ended up trading some older JL gear for a 12w7 from a friend who is a big Audio/JL Audio guy too. Take a look at my build thread - I did a ton of underhood grounds and even a 4ga power cable from the alternator to the positive terminal. https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-p...-build-990963/

Thanks and it's still white I just think the lighting might make it look a little different cause al lot those picture were in darker times or maybe it's cause it's actually clean now. When I first got it it hadn't been washed in years

Alright, mind blown! I have to decide between buying more Satin Silver paint to fix my chips, or going nuts and repainting some kind of gray/tan color.

This ones gonna get some hate but wait till it's done I've already got some extra headliner fabric to cover it in so it matches

I'll have to read it later but I know a couple people running them and have read a couple threads before saying they are good. But thanks for the info I'll have to read it later when I get home.

Nice ball joints and PCI sphericals. I've got a set of those waiting to go in to replace my shot compliance bushings. A little concerned with how they will stand up to harsh winter conditions though. Going to be installing soon?

I've got a couple more suspension components to buy before installing. I'm not really going to be testing how they do in elements though because the car sits inside unless it's a nice day and I feel like driving if

Got the cluster in and it looks amazing. It does have 150k miles and I have 126k so I have to figure out what to do about that. And I've also been reading on how to get rid of the airbag light but I'm gonna swap clusters back for now until I get all that figure out.

Its a super simple and quick job you just pull off the trim piece by hand which has two connectors on it. Then there's 4 screws holding in the cluster and 2 connectors and it's out.

I would recommend having a nice stubby magnetic screwdriver if you want to attempt this makes the job a whole lot easier

No worries on the elements - I'll be one of the first people I know running them in a daily that sees salt/snow so we'll see. I'm also planning my front suspension rebuild. Want to get the same ball joints and some other things such as tie rods, additional bushings, etc.

Haven't updated in a while so here's some of the new stuff going on

Got the bumper cut and ready for paint along with mirrors

Got the type s lip mounted

Fog light brackets made

Painted these bars and turned them upside down so holes are not visible through grille

more to come whenever I'm not lazy/busy and get some stuff done
