Logically, it makes sense...but wait until you have it happen again, the pump the pedal and see if it immediately goes in...
once you do, it's likely a hydraulic leak.

I hope it's got nothing to do with the input shaft bearing...
but again, you can get it into every other gear.
I would still start with confirming no hydraulic leak.
