It wasn’t 500 bucks but back in a TL

Saw a local unmolested 2004 ABP, 6MT, no Navi with grey interior for sale for 3500. 167k miles with service records. Considering the condition of my former 05 TL in ABP (really good condition) I would consider this one in poor condition. Ended up getting it for 3k and brought it home today which I thought was fair. Tons of dents, dings and scratches. I’ll be re-doing the seats. Considering a paint job but not likely. Immediate concerns- it needs 2 front tires. Other than that it purrs like a kitten and shifts great. I will also need to get it a subwoofer because I can barely hear the music. Already bought an OEM ABP decklid spoiler. Considering the coverlay dash cover as well. I still have the RS400 Q50. The TL will be my fun / nostalgic errand runner. Looking forward to bringing this TL back to life.

If you can barely hear the music, perhaps it's the amp and not just the subwoofer that is on its way out. Just a thought.. Welcome back to the club!

Congrats! Time for another car meet
I really liked your interior / exterior color combo in your old car. Glad you got the 6spd, you had mentioned wanting one that however many years ago...

Lol , no worries about the car meet, I was kidding anyways.
Regarding the seats, are you doing front and back (cushion and leather, or leather only)? Will you keep the same color? I replaced the bottom padding padding in mine years ago due to a spilled drink, I was able to keep the leather.
anyways, glad you’re back in the driver seat of a TL!

Congrats Ggesq!! I believe I still have my OEM seat skins from my 2004 (same color). They are in way better condition than the seats you have. If you're interested let me know.

Dog...
every time I think you couldn't be any dumber
you go out
and do something
and COMPLETELY REDEEM YOURSELF!

This would be my same desire except Anthracite and with Aspec.
Although honestly, I probably just shouldn't have sold the KBP

Congrats, man...gonna be fun!

I am looking to basically re-do anything that is pleather but no cushions sans maybe the front passenger seat. That one might need a new cushion. Maybe I should re-do the cushions all around? Hmmm. I am most likely going to keep the same color. Personal preference, but I'm not too much of a fan of the two-tone frankenstein TL's I have seen. Tim (Slpr04UA6) connected me with one of his local interior guys and I am actually gonna take her in tomorrow to discuss it/get a quote.

Thank you. Can you shoot me over some pictures of yours? When I go talk to the interior guy tomorrow, I can also find out how much it would be just to reinstall new (used but in good condition) skins from you.

Thank you and congrats to you as well. Didn't you have an ABP back in the day or am I confusing you with someone else?

No Sir... Confused with someone else lol.

I've been on AZine for a while, but for my other Acuras. I have a 2004 K24 JRSC RSX Type S, 2011 Acura MDX Tech, and previous a 2000 Acura 3.2TL (sold).

The 3G TL was a complete accident as I needed a beater and found a deal I couldn't refuse.

I'd be on the hunt for a full A-spec kit. It's amazing how many TL's are in the junk yard with full kits. Too bad here in NJ there's not many U-Pull style places.

Crazy how much the total cost is though.....now we see why I think some of the cleaner TL-S 6MT cars are worth the asking price...to replicate something similar....oh man

Any well kept minty 6MT 3rd gen is worth the cost.

Well, as long as it's not way out there.

I read an article from Jalopnik about a super clean 2007 Type-s A-spec 6MT listed for almost 14K last night. I chuckled at the ignorant comments especially the ones claiming that the 6MT type-s isn't rare at all and could find them all day long. Yeah.. sure Bud. Rumors were that the owner sold the car for more.

Cabin and engine air filters, rear brake pads, new power steering pump and hoses, drive belt, fresh oil change and new windshield wipers done.

On 3 different occasions, while at a complete stop- I've had the infamous not going into gear issue. Goes into gear just fine while the car is off. After doing some research here on AZ, and realizing that with almost 168k miles and nothing in the service records indicating otherwise- I'm looking at changing the clutch, flywheel, master and slave cylinder. About 500 bucks for the parts on rockauto. 1k for the install.

The cosmetic stuff is at a stand still at this point. Maintenance first.

Are you sure you're not just dealing with a leaking slave or master?
Also, self adjusting clutch, you sure your pedal is self adjusting to have enough throw in the fork?

After talking to Germ on the phone....gonna stick with just changing the slave/master and bleeding the fluid and hopefully that resolves the issue. Thanks again man.
