Lovin this WDP! Congrats on very nice mods! Like the new tails, and I have to say I love the Enkei's as well!

Love the tails, visors and drop.
The stockies are fine with the drop.
Roof spoiler would complete the look, I think.
ProjectX: The DRL module can be had at autobarn.com. Do yourself a favor and either solder it in or ditch the taps they include and get decent ones. Nokya Yellows can be found on eBay for about $15 shipped. They add a nice color to the light output that provides more definition, especially in the rain.

You like that? It's all rock n' roll to me...

Thanks for the props!

Thanks Steven! That it has. The car has been a money pit. I could have bought a used NA Miata for the amount of money I have put into this car. But she sure does look purty.

Thanks. That means a lot coming from you. I mentioned recently that you were one of my biggest influences in building my car up to this point. You and sT04Louis, this one's for you:

Thanks. I think the stockies get a bad rap. I wish they were a size bigger, but Acura did that with the A-spec wheels. I guess that will have to suffice.

Thanks! The whole package, I think, has come out great. Some of the mods (full A-spec body kit, window visors) took me some time to consider, but they look superb. I'm about done and ready to move onto to other things to spend my free money on, but I'm still bouncing the idea of an inexpensive roof spoiler as an accent piece, or perhaps some 15 or 20mm wheel spacers for the stockies. Not sure when or if I'm going to do these mods, though. I still have no ambition for any an performance-enhancing add-ons at this point.

And, yes... the Nokya yellows improve short-range illumination at night dramatically over stock bulbs. Highly recommended, especially in areas that experience frequent bouts of adverse weather.

Amazing looking 3G. I think you serve as an inspiration to many owners. Definition of "clean and simple."

Thanks for the kind words. I never saw myself as an inspiration to others since there are so many other nicer TL's on this board. But I think my car's theme represents the average enthusiast on a budget, where the little things, like a small drop, different exhaust tips and various dealer upgrades make the car different from the majority of the TL's on the road. You are spot on with the definition of my car: "Clean and Simple".

This "Clean and Simple" is exactly what I thought about when I started to mod my WDP. I agree that there are a lot of very Beautiful Tl's on here, but I kinda wanted to keep it looking factory, with that extra little bit of tweaking(drop, headlights, sidemarkers, swaybars, etc.....) Sleeper!! Well said, Voodoo!!

Thanks! I need to add some more recent pics with the roof spoiler installed. Essentially, I'm done with the cosmetic enhancements. Pretty much ran out of money anyway... lol But, I love how the car looks. It's perfect, factory 17" wheels and all! I think the only things I'll keep in consideration for the future will be some custom headlamp work (I really want to add the touch of clear Type-S diffusers), and MAYBE throw some color onto those calipers. I feel that I achieved my goal of retaining the conservative look of the stock car, meanwhile separating it from the vast majority of other base TL's on the roadways.

No $hit, I used to live in Antelope as well.

I'm stoked, My lil one grew out of her car seat. I was sooo glad to get rid of that thing.
As far as the wheels go, The stockies are one of the best options out there until you get into the high end wheel market(I think Ive said this before in another thread).

^^ Oh, yeah. The wheels that I would want on my car are well over $500 a pop, and there is no way that is going to happen without the help of a lucky lottery ticket. Acura chose wisely when considering wheel choices for the 3G TL, and although I would have liked to see the diameter stretched another inch, I understand their philosophy of producing a wheel offering a fair mix of sporty styling and decent ride comfort (I can't agree with their choice of base tires, although that is pretty much a given with most owners).

Pff stick with the stock wheels. They work in this situation. Just throw a few MM of spacer on them and they will be golden.

I don't know. Do you mean darker? I think the tint, which came with the car, is the perfect shade (I'm guessing it's around 20%, but I'm not an expert on these things). Any darker and I wouldn't be happy with it. If you meant, "Moar tint!" as in front windows, I will agree with that. Although front tint is illegal in CA, I wouldn't mind adding a light tint to help things blend a little bit better.

Um... yeah... About that. LOL! I think my persistence visiting this forum shows in how the car looks. Without A-zine, I'm confident that I would have done nothing else to the car except for maybe throwing some springs on for a more aggressive look. Believe me that when I mentioned early on that the A-spec body kit was too flashy for the TL, or that I would never put out those gawd-awful window visors on anything but a truck, well... to put it short, I'm very happy how the car turned out.

First off, welcome back. As you already know, your TL was one of my main inspirations. I don't know what it was, but it pretty much convinced me to turn it up a notch. Your car was beautiful when you had it.

In response to the wheel spacers, there was some time ago that I was highly considering them. Since then, I backed down a bit on the idea, not sure if they were worth the cost. Since I highly value your opinion, what do you think would be a perfect fit for my car? I was mulling around with 15mm in the front and 20mm in the rear.

I was running them with my Volks, and my ASPECs. I had 16mm in the rear and 10 up front for the longest time, Then i stepped up to 21mm in the rear.

Since you do haul around kids i wouldnt go that extreme. 10-15mm at the most in the rear would look great. No need to have a "hellaflush" TL that you and the family use.

My TL was a useless four door.

Can you elaborate on the exhaust setup. What mufflers/tips ... did you mod the lip?

Certainly Jesstzn...

The mufflers are factory. I went with the A-Zine "Stage 3" exhaust set-up, and I am perfectly happy with it. The drone is non-existent, and the sound under acceleration matches the personality of my car to a "T". The tips are the same ones that have been frequently discussed around here the last few months. I paid $100 for mine, but now there is a company out there that sells what appears to be the same model at half that cost. The A-spec lip cutouts provide the perfect width for these tips, unless one wants to mount them a bit higher than I did... Then some filing may be in order to get the look desired.

Just got back from Japan and wanted to check out your car's progress. Looking good! I haven't done much of anything to my car lately. All my extra cash is being absorbed into my model railroading hobby. Keep it up, it's come a long way!

Thanks, brah! Welcome back! I've seen some of your work on your railroad layout on your youtube channel, and it's amazing how far the hobby has come since the '80s when I was involved with it as a kid. I've always vowed to get back into it, but with my two daughters, everything has been kind of put on hold for a few years.

The car is about done, but my remaining mods are on hold due to financial restraints. Not pictured in this thread is the addition of a roof spoiler added a few months ago. I'm still considering the painted black roof, wheel spacers, and blacked-out headlights with the Type-S clear diffuser. But still no wheels in the picture.

Teehee... I love when my progress thread gets revived. Gives me a chance to admire my car from the recliner in the living room.

Yeah... I'm so broke, I can't even pay attention! I've been going back and forth with the painted black roof, but it may be the more expensive mod over the blacked-out headlights or the wheel spacers. I don't know!

Well... and then some. The pictures speak for themselves. The car was a victim of a Nissan Armada trying to show some up, close and personal love for the TL. Hopefully, I'll have her back by the Thanksgiving holiday...and that's if they get the job done right!

Just thought I'd add these to my "progress" thread for posterity.

It's just over $8k in damage and repairs. New doors and rear quarter panel, some slight structural reworking and a reconditioned wheel is in store for her. The side molding looks a little tweaked, so I'm guessing that it will be replaced if it is permanently damaged. It is what it is. I have had full intentions to drive this car until it was worth more in parts, so I'm not too worried about the history of the car when I go to sell it. I suppose it could have been worse.

I hope the repair job is going well and being done well! Is that your sweet rental Corolla in front of the TL?
