Thanks...The Escort Passport SR7 plus Laser Shifter ZR3...have driven approx. 3K since install, and it works great!!! When researching, I saw some window mounts that seemed to have better specs, but I like the "covertness" of this...hasn't let me down yet.

Absolutely no comparision...this system has a crystal clear, full sound!!! Great highs, great lows...the ZAPCO amps are arguably some of the best in the biz. Being able to tune the amps with the laptop is awesome. I am only pushing about 70% of their power...had to tune the bass WAY down...thing was churning my guts, couldn't handle it. I have also heard a lot of good things about JL and others...some of these aftermarket systems really kick butt!!!

I've never used valentine...so I can't say from personal experience. All the reviews I read rated valentine very highly. The Escort overall is very solid. I get more than enough warning when CHP is around. I do get false alarms from some stores, motels, banks, etc... but, the unit self mutes after two beeps. I've been hit with Laser once...but, the system must have worked, didn't get pulled over even though I was over limit 15+/- mph. The primary reason for getting the detector is to cover me on a number of 400+ mile runs I make a couple times a month. I have been hit a few times by CHP...they seem to come from out of nowhere. Since having the Escort, I have had plenty of forwarning...so, for my purpose it has worked excellently. Some of the window mounted units seemed to review better (and are a LOT cheaper) than the concealed...but, I wanted the stealth set-up.

Here's a link to more detailed specs http://www.radarbusters.com/products...us-details.asp

The guys there have been very helpful. I have a very high end system AND I am a perfectionist...so, I have taken the car back a number of times for fine tuning, etc... I still have a few more things needing adjustment...it's not perfect yet!!! But, they have always jumped on whatever issues/concerns I have. Lastly, they are the only ones in town with ZAPCO products and ZAPCO AMPS are amoung the best in the world, many IASCA and USAC top awards. I've seen a number of TL's in town...which one is yours?

PA: Car stereo stuff = real good...car alarms on the other hand is another story...still a work in progress.
