Type-S Grills + Accord Fogs + Time, Blood, sweat

Hey guys,

Just wanted to show off some pictures of the finished install of the Type-S grills and accord fogs.

NOTICE: I will be doing a DIY for those people out there. I took lots of pictures of the process. I just don't have the time to write one up today.

That being said, the whole process wasn't easy.
Alright, I'll admit, the center grill was pretty fun and easy to do but when it was time to do the foglights, I was on the edge of giving up.

Total cost of this mod?
2 lower grills, 1 center grill, 2 chrome bars = $85
OEM Accord fogs = $60
Total cost would equal to $145

Anywho, enough talk, I should probably talk more in the DIY.

Here are SOME of the progress pictures.
(More will be in the DIY)

The start:

Test fitting the center grill:

Center grill cut and mounted:

Starting the fogs:

Driver side done:

Everything looking good:

Passenger side done.
All flush and pointed inwards as much as possible (inspired by AckTL05)

All done cutting:

Then we have this beast to clean up:

The results?

I would like thank everyone in this thread:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/%2A-those-whove-done-accord-fogs%2A-816064/

DeathMetal, jwr0ng626, Mem04TL, rockstar143, omnuts, Roger555, AckTL05, el.profe

These guys helped me make it through the install. Otherwise, I would have given up, so cheers to them!

I havn't wired them up yet, so I'll try to get night pictures when I do.

Next project: Blacked out headlights with Type-S diffusers, and Di-Noc carbon fiber wrapper middle bar grill.

I was just thinking about if anybody in town would notice this mod, but it looks so OEM people on the road think it's stock LOL

Thanks !

Not really much cutting for the center grill.
For the center grill, it was a lot easier than doing fogs because fogs you have to cut to fit into the bumper, but the center grill, all you're doing is removing some of the middle section because it's too tall.

Here's a sneak heheh:

for your 04 tl front bumper I was wondering...... for the 2 lower grills for the type s does it just bolt/clip on like the stock tl ones? or must you trim the top or sides?
thanks

It just clips on =)

I did have to cut the one side of each grill for the Accord fogs, though.

Also, they don't just clip in easily, I had to widen some of the mounting holes on the bumper which didn't take long haha

Please make a diy! Now I don't understand why people cut the grill and put foglights in their oem when you can just buy the type s ones right? Also could you list the part numbers please? Thanks! How long did this take you?

Yeah, you're absolutely right.
The grills are pretty cheap too =)

I guess it's extra work because you'd have to do the center grill to match them heheh

Part numbers:

71121-SEP-A20ZA
71126-SEP-A20ZA
71107-SEP-A20ZA
71102-SEP-A20ZA
71120-SEP-A10ZA

The whole project spanned over a whole week.

There were days that I looked at my bumper in frustration, and said no way I'm not gonna try again.

It really only took me two days, though.

A few hours for each side.

The center grill took me only two hours I think.

I worked really slow.

It shouldn't take too long with my DIY though.

I wanna do the accord fogs too but I am not sure how to do it. There is not many detailed DIY, how do you attach the fogs to the bumper and all. If I have some money to spare I will do this. Where did you get the accord fogs for 60$?

Lets see this at night with the fogs on. Like that you tried to aim them towards center as much as possible. I hate when they go so far right

On ebay, so jwr0ng626 is partly right! =)

They are OEM.
Jump on them, these supposedly cost $250 +

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=120686745263

You can tell they are OEM too, because in this picture:

you can see the glare shield, and the label near the bottom of the fog lens.

Post up your results! =)

I have a double garage to work in, it's just that I prefer working in a cozy basement haha.

So yeah, as posted above, these are OEM for $60.

I believe AckTL05 was selling them for $150.

And yeah, the plastic smelled REALLY bad. The fog plastic didn't smell too bad but the lower grills were the worst since they are a harder plastic.

Thanks!

I'm still a bit noob at wiring, so I'm just gonna wait til I get Nokya Yellows and take off my bumper to wire them up.

I'm an idiot and put my bumper on with wiring so now I can't get to the fogs LOL

Yeah, it really bugs me when I see people's foglights pointed so outward. It doesn't look good because it's not flush with the bumper, and the light glares people LOL

I'm just waiting til I get my Nokya Yellows. I'm really excited to see the fogs come alive hehe
