Be prepared to do a lot of exterior maintenance-black is a bitch to keep clean and looking good.

along with my many 'firsts' regarding a vehicle, this will be my first black car. so I will live with it, and then I can decide what color car is my preference.
interesting update:
I did a quick search under "problems and fixes" and didn't see this as a common thread. though I didn't look that far back.
but recently, my drive shaft snapped. I thought it was the tranny so
but it turns out that, the mechanic said, it happens a lot to many different cars. because of the damper they put on the drive shaft to soften vibrations and noise, that the damper actually causes rust and eventually the shaft just snaps.
he's said there's really no way to tell unless a. it snaps, or b. you take it apart and look at it.
so thought I'd share. the fix was under $300.

that's right, that black WRX lease is in!
still shaking off 10 years of not-driving-a-stick-rust.
and I've realized that it's not just 10 years of not driving one, it's also 10 years of driving an auto, and averaging more miles per trip than I was ten years ago. When I was only 20, with very little auto-driving habits to speak of.

When I got the Stingray, it was more than 10 years of no-stick.....

how was the transition for you to go from an auto TL to the 7-speed 'vette?
The last manuals I drove over 10 years ago were civics, escorts, and an RSX type-s.

^^^ It was KRAZY!
The Corvette has 175 horsepower MORE than the Type S (460 HP)! The stick wasn't so bad of a transition. I remember I did a test drive with the sales guy and I killed it (with the manual transmission), so that was embarrassing....
But the stick DOES make this car more fun. It would definitely be anti-climactic as an automatic.
The Stingray takes some getting used to though-just because of all the power. I let my 25 year old daughter drive it. She owns a 4-speed Jeep Wrangler. She couldn't handle it very well....it's a real monster.
The torque is incredible. You get instant response in any gear when you put your foot to the floor.....
