TSX grill on a TL.

TSX grill on a TL.
I would like to start by thanking the people for the inspiration and for documenting how to accomplish this without having to take the car to a body shop. The DIYs on az regarding this matter were immensely helpful so for that thanks again.
Sadly, before i was able to finish painting the bumper, the V part only, it got very windy all of a sudden so a little bit of dust got on the fresh paint I guess i should have closed the garage but I didn't because it was awfully hot. Anyhow, my mesh will likely arrive on wednesday so i will finish everything at once next week. Oh ya, I'm thinking about putting the a-spec emblem instead of the "A" what do you think?
Before I started with this project, i went to my room to make sure i had this
Cutting the bumper
Putting the bondo on
After sanding a bit, i decided to put the bumper back on the car
This is what i got after sanding for a while
Covering the bumper
Using prime
Letting it dry afterwards and then DUST!!
It doesn't look bad, it is a tiny bit but it bothers me a lot. So i will have to fix it
btw the grilles were painted the same color as my car
These pictures are all for today, but will post more after everything is done properly

This post sounds awfully familiar, I think someone else here had used that exact same line "Before I started with this project, i went to my room to make sure i had this" with that pic..

Lookin' good.
I dunno' if you felt the same, but when I cut that cross-bar out of the bumper, I did feel a little rush. It takes cajones and commitment to take that kind of step and trust in your craftsmanship that the patch and refinishing will look good. Kudos.

Thanks
Thanks
Ya I completely understand what you are saying. I was scared of damaging the bumper and then having to get a new or used one which would have made me spend more money. Indeed, you need to have cojones before trying this.

I'm trying to do something different, something that no one has ever done, as far as i know. I want to finish this project as soon as possible but can't since i have other duties to fulfill. However, i've been working on it almost every day. So please CROSS your fingers
thanks a lot

I've thought about doing this a couple of times....not enough time to pull it off though.

I have had this in the back of my head for a long time. Ever since i saw the 09 tsx grille, I had always wondered about how it would look on my car. Never really had the time to do this. One because i was sort of scared of ruining my bumper, and second because the tl was is my daily drive car. Anyways, since i removed the middle bar, i decided to attemp to do the following, to add the 09 tsx grille on the front bumper. Honestly, it has been a pain in the butt, however, things are going well so far. Just need to finish few things here and there. For the mean, time i will leave you with this pictures
Please, remember that im working with what i have, and with what i can do. As far as i know, no one has done anything like that to the 3g tl so please be nice. Im not a pro, im just tryind to do something different thats all.
let me know what you think?
The grille
i'm pretty sure more work will be needed to be done, we'll see.

hmmmm... it looks ok. it doesn't look bad i like it, but the more i look at it the more out of place it seems.
i'm pretty sure its because im so used to the regular tl girlls, and seeing this kinda throws it off.
it kind of reminds me of the new '12 tl grills. the smaller beaks. props on definitely being the first!
