What a girl car!!

JK!! That M3's a beauty! How many miles on her? I've always had a soft spot for M3 / M5's. Never bought one, but always gawk when I see one.

Congrats and good luck with it!

EDIT -Since your other car is an NSX, is the M3 going to be your winter car in Wisconsin? How are they in the snow (if that's the case)? Or do you have other plans for winter travel?

The M3 is my daily driver, with Dunlop Wintersport M3 snow tires on 17" wheels for the winter months. It should be fine in the snow (DSC: on Sport: Off).

You can see the snow tires/wheels in the background of pic #4 above.

I bought it with 37k miles, and it has full maintenance until 50k or 2007 and is CPO until 100k or 2009.

Very nice!

I must admit, I have never been real high on Beemers.

It is only now that I have been influenced by alot of the posts I have seen here on this forum that BMW's are really nice cars.

Everyone that I talk to though say they are prone to alot of shop time.

And although they come with mostly everything covered including maintenance, I would be really annoyed to have it going in and out of the shop.

What's your take..

Are they reliable?

I really like the M3!

They are not as reliable as your average Honda product, but they are still pretty good. I don't expect to have many problems, and those that do occur are covered.

Only time will tell if this M3 is a good car in terms of its reliability. In general, the E46 M3s have been fairly good.

The BMW is a beautiful car .. Here is a 2000 I detail on a regular basis .. owner says outside of scheduled regular maintenance he has had zero issues pertaining to reliability.

Best is a matter of opinion.

As nice as the new M5 is, it is much heavier and larger than what I was looking for, that and they are selling for above MSRP and I can't afford MSRP.

For me, the E46 M3 was the best choice for a daily driver that may see light track duty.

Well I live in a pretty nice neighborhood I think my house is one of the least expensive and its wortj about $850K min., there are alot of Mercedes and Beemers 5 series and 7 series. My neighbor was asking me to go online and help him shop the new top of the line 7 series
2006 BMW 760 4dr Sedan i

BMW M5 MSRP: $81,200 One can ony dream!

BMW 760 Base MSRP: $111,500 (in 2006)

Why does the 760 cost so much more if the M5 has 500hp and the 760 only has 438?

The 760 is a massive luxo-cruiser with a V12 and a host of luxury and technology features. The horsepower difference is only the beginning.

Where does a 15 year old get $81,000.00 ?

Not to mention what insurance would cost.

Are you a movie star, rock star, athlete, born rich or just dreaming like the rest of us?

The main rod bearings have been replaced, and the car is under factory and CPO warranties through 2009 or 100k, so the motor will be covered if it blows up.

Here are some more pics after a wash, with the snow tires/rims and my girl's Z4:

I hate you! J/K. Beautiful car. I really wanted the M3 but logic (if I ever decide to have a family) kicked in and made me get a more affordable 4-door sedan. I really want the M3 though!

Congratulations! What did you net out paying for the M3 after the trade?

The M3 is one nice car to fix up! You have so many options and can make it look aggressive.
