Took some PRO shots of my TL yesterday

Something I've been meaning to do for months - some new pro shots of the TL. I am always so busy shooting other stuff (mostly cars, but not my own) that I hardly ever have time to do some "personal work".

Yesterday I had to do a demo for a client so I ran the TL through a car wash, buffed it up and brought it into the studio. Once the client was gone, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and do a couple of shots. These shots, by the way, take several hours each because they are made up of multiple layers of painted light and then all the layers are combined and blended in Photoshop.

Here is the first. One more to follow when The Photoshop work is complete.

Very nice. 17" Fast wheels? So this was painted and not strobed? Very good and even lighting while still showing body definition. The gradient shadow is kinda fake though. What background did the studio have?

Yep, 17" fast wheels. Wish I had gone for the 18's.
It was strobed and then "painted" in Photoshop. The studio is a full white cove so quite easy to eliminate reflections. Floor is a bit dirty right now (needs a paint) so I had to eliminate it and drop in the fake shadow.

Thought this would interest some of you.

This is how they looked before retouching in Photoshop...

Separating a white car from a white background must have taken you forever. Out of curiosity, why don't you have a chroma key setup?

Yeah, chroma key (or "green-screening" for those who don't understand the term) would probably work quite well for a white car. Typically I don't shoot white cars because they are hard to light and don't show enough modeling (shape). My studio has a huge white cove which virtually eliminates weird reflections on neutral colored cars which is what I usually get to shoot. Then I colorize them in Photoshop if I need a different color.

Check this out...
