TL-s get scratched...

Today I went to boxing day shopping and found out my car get scratched by some Fxxking people in the parking lot......
PS. That parking lot has no security camera, anyone can enter there and play around...

left rear door

tail of left rear door

left front side closed to rim

Hood

Right side

other right side

the most dmged scratched

other one (not vertical one, that is dirt)

Right side door overview...

The dmg is not so serious but it still have to spend my time to fix it...
Anywayz, Can I get the insurance company to cover this? Does it need to be repaint the whole? (Full coverage)
Let me know, my insurance company is "the co-operators" (Canada)
Cuz today the Acura doesnt open so I have to wait until tomorrow to get them to quote the repaint...

CURSED THOSE MOTHER FXXKERS!!!

Man i get freaking crazy seeing that. Someone keyed my g/f's Lexus GS just one week after she bought it. It just get me mad trying to think of a reason why anyone would do it. I swore to myself if i see anyone trying to key someone else car, i'll jump that motherf**ker and break the very hand that did it.

I hope that makes you feel a little better

Sorry to see something like this happened to your car, the same thing happened to my 04 TL a couple years ago at West Ed. Mall. My driverside back door and fender got scratched, I ended up using some scratch-x and a bunch of waxing and polishing, but you can still see it to this day. Hopefully I'll see ya around, congrats on one of the only Type S' in the city.

damn!!!! someone was real jealous of your type-s. I recommend not doing the touch-up. Its going to make more mess, touch-up is for small rock chip or very smal scratches. You should definatly talk to your insurance first. How deep is the scratches? try to run through with your finger nail and see how deep it is. If its not too deep then light wet sanding and buffing should do the trick..

Thanks for your advise.
Actually the parking lots I parked was not safe, no security, no camera, no check...everyone can access it...I will find the underground parking near my house, it is worth rather than parking behind and keep letting people to screw my car. I reported to the police and talked to my insurance company, unfortunely it is not included in my policy, but they still can cover with rising my insurance rate... ...GODDAMN...I hate those people...
the scratches werent very deep, light wet sanding? could you provide details?

Scratch Repair

For scratches like that the best way to fix them is to sand smooth, re-paint, and re-clear. You can do this yourself out of spray cans and use the DuPont Clearcoat Blender (paintworldinc.com) to make the repair invisable. The blender especially comes in handy when you're not painting whole panels. The custom matched automotive paint is the EXACT same stuff that a bodyshop would use on your car if they repaired it. The only difference is that it's in spray cans for the Do-It-Yourselfer. At the very least, spending $50 on a can of custom paint, clear, and blender, is better than spending $600+ for a bodyshop to do it when you could have done it yourself.

i know its usually used most for convertibles and motorcycle...but maybe you can think about getting an aftermarket alarm system with a proximity sensor....

because trust me, if someone was around and these kids did this...either they wouldn't bother with your car or it would draw some big attention (even though most of the time, the average citizen would mind there own business)

check out the wash and wax section. You will find plenty of info on that. Basically, you are sanding it down to smooth out the scratches and if it isn't so deep, it should able to get it off. I used 1500-2000 grit sand paper to light sanding because if you do it too hard its going to go thourgh the actual paint so then I used some scratch / swirl marks remover product to buff the area out. Some of guys in wash and wax section should able to guide you to the right path.

sorry to hear about the scratch.
jealous people....why can't they just work harder and get a tl of their own.

i feel your pain man, especially on a brand new tl-s.

i went bosing day shopping too, and rather risking my baby, i drove my dads' 90 integra.
no worries, cause its all scratched up and rusted up and all.

ask around for a good bodyshop, you don't want to repaint it with a half ass job.

check out this site.
