TL Project

I followed up with Marcus about 2 weeks ago ish and he indicated the supplier said mid December. I'm with you though, we would have to be extremely lucky to get it before the end of the year.
Do you have the V2 version of the XLR8 quads? I had them on my old TL and I'll be honest, I think it sounds far better than the ATLP. Are you upgrading for the power?

I went with the 2.5 inch one. The 3 inch definitely makes sense if you are trying to maximize gains and/or have a lot of other performance mods. I have no intentions of using this car for those purposes, so the 3 inch would have been a waste for me.

i went with the 3" because i am full bolt on with almost every performance mod our car can have and with my tune i should be able to dial it in the best i can. i haven't heard any updates lately, not even for december (when i asked 2 months ago prior buying he said november) so i'm guessing it will be more jan/feb. i'll most likely have to have a shop weld on a resontator when i get it too since i have HFPCs which add decent sound, but i want to hear how it sounds unresonated first
somewhere i saw an email or a social media message from heeltoe recently saying that exhausts will be coming in the spring, but don't know if he meant 2.5 or 3" versions...or if it was the next batch after ours. really hard to tell when it's going to come but i'm in no rush!

i currently have the xlr8 v1 quad exhaust that i bought 11 years ago! i absolutely love the sound and have gone back and forth many times on switching it up. the 2 main reasons for switching it up is that it's very throaty and louder than i want as a i get older (atlp is known to be a little quieter), and because i've had it so long i worry about it's longevity. i figure i can sell it for around 1k since the market is hot and xlr8 is extremely hard to find, especially the v1. i will miss my xlr8 a lot and makes me sad to think about it haha

I think you could easily sell your old XLR8. I would have dropped serious coin on a used one if it was available before I ordered the ATLP.

I imagine you'll be making some serious power with all of those mods. Are you planning to dyno at some point if you haven't already? Would 300whp be out of the question?

i haven't done a dyno but based on others doing it with similar mods it's probably right around 300 maybe a little less now that the car is older. i really like the pick up the car has for being 13 years old though (i bought it new in 2008), that's probably why i've hung onto it so long.

01/10/2022 - Finally got the ATLP exhaust in and had to throw it on ASAP. I got the V3 j-pipe as well.
02/12/2022 - Huge shout out to @NSXavier for helping knock out the reseal work and the t-belt. Doing this job in the middle of winter without a lift would have been a giant PITA. If anyone locally needs any work done, definitely hit him up!
New t-belt, water pump, serpentine belt, PS pump, and 2 PS pump hoses. Also resealed the oil pump and oil pan.
Mechanically speaking, this thing is almost perfect with all of the new parts I've put on since getting it. Next thing to focus on will be overhauling the suspension components and getting started on the Type-S front conversion.

Great work! Funny we have almost the same stuff going on! I got my 3” atlp exhaust too after waiting four months but one of my mufflers came dented so I hve to wait who knows how long to get a new muffler. So bummed
I’m also lining up a shop to do the oil pump seal fix and will also have them do the timing stuff at the same time.
happy to see some people taking care of maintenance!
any sound clips?
