From IS to TL :)

Hello

Totaled my IS350 so I bought an 07 TL - its base but I don't care cause I love it. Almost a whole week now...

First Mod - Bye bye DRL's
Second Mod - Hello 15% tint
Third Mod - rear spoiler, bought but not yet mounted.

Lots more to do... I think intake is next.

The old

The new

Wow!!!! I'd really like to know what you like about the TL over the Lexus IS350 besides the size of the rear seat...

I always liked the IS350 due to RWD and 300HP and 270TQ.... Did your IS350 have factory navigation?

No Nav or ML sound so minus the HP and the ventilated seats and the keyless/remote-less access TL wins for me.
-The IS has super sensitive steering and it drove me crazy, especially at high speeds.
-Mine didn't have the upgraded sound so TL's sound is nicer
-The bigger size is helpful
-The IS engine is very quiet and I prefer to hear some roar
-The IS had more road noise and the dashboard insulation went bad very quick so lots of rattles
-No HID in my 06 IS (TL is my first HID car, now I could never go back)

I'm sure someone could easily argue for the IS over the TL, but I'm happier

Thanks for answering. I never would have thought the TL 3.2L was louder than the IS350s 3.5L. Interesting!

Welcome to the 3G club!

I am very surprised that you got a TL after totaling the IS350. I am just curious, hope you don't mind......did you consider the 335/G37 after totaling the IS350? If not, why not? I looked at the 2G IS before getting my TL, even though I only tested the IS250, I found it more "exciting" to drive then the TL. At the end of the day the IS250 was too slow for me and the IS350 was something I was not considering....But I am just wondering your thoughts/opinion.

Money. Couldn't find one that was clean enough for a decent price. Car shopping in Seattle sucks - by far hardest place to shop that I've lived.

I looked at G35/G37 330's 335's IS350's and TL's. First and most importantly I've always wanted a 3G TL - I've driven tons of them but never owned and my first car was a 3.0 CL so Acura is my first love. The Infinitis are solid, I owned an 04 G35 and it was fun but I wanted to go with something I hadn't owned. I did look at IS's again but couldnt find one with the options miles and color for a good price point. The 250's are barely any cheaper than the 350's. As for the BMW's I couldn't find one with the packages I wanted that still had decent room on the warranties for under $25k. The 335 is a beast - no doubt thats what I look for in a few years..

Thanks for all the welcomes!

I hope the spoiler is the lip . Welcome to AZ bro. You'll have fun doing tweaks to get the most power per dollar out of the J32 which I must say when you compare to other cars it's pretty reasonably priced.

Lexus didn't have HIDs in their IS models in 2006? Damn, even Acura was a bit more luxurious?

I don't get how people look at my car and say that's not a luxurious car. But they'll look at something like an IS300 and say it is.

OP congrat in your new car, I was consider buying 07 IS350 but until I test drove one and find out how much leg room for the back seat is, I though I was in the back of my accord coupe again, lexus had very light steering wheel compare to my TL and BMW it is like total opposite of the spectrum, my bro has 00 GS300 and I love the suspension in those car. But IS350 has 300hp with ventilate seat dam it was a tough choice but I went with TL-S instead.

I think IS coming three packages, Premium, Luxury and the third one is Sport and luxury combined (I believe)

Welcome. I love my TL-S but...if I could do it over again I would have gotten something AWD or RWD like the IS350.

Holy shit your IS was trashed! I'm glad you made it out of there alive.

Congrats on the TL! While I love my TL, I wish it had the ventilated seats like the IS does

Drive responsibly from now on. Drinking and driving not only puts your life in danger but other drivers as well.

Next time you decide to drink, be sure that you have an assigned DD.
