Tinted my headlights....

Purchased a kit from eBay for $25, installed yesterday. Pretty easy to install since the headlights aren't really contoured.

Only one problem and it's the obvious one: Although they didn't degrade my headlights as much as I thought they would, they did decrease the output of my xenons enough for me to notice and want to get brighter bulbs. What bulb do you guys recommend? I want something that's easy to install (plug-n-play) but one that's much brighter...

Here are some pics:

It gives the impression of having its eyes closed, very nice! Slap on some angel eyes haha.. since stock is 4300k, swap it to 6000K, we used the D2S bulbs. I personally have 8000k, and although it looks nice, I lose too much light output on highway 17, So I'm going to swap them for 6000k. Since you already have an HID kit, just find the bulbs, which are about $75-200 depending on brand, i personally wouldn't spend more than 120.

Just to clarify something I hope you dont think by going higher in Kelvin (4300 to 6000K) you are going to gain light output... cuz its the total opposite, you lose lumens as you go up in Kelvin temperature.

Yea, I already knew that. I was thinking that maybe there were some bulbs that were just brighter than others.

You should paint your grille black too.
Then that'll complete the black look.

I did the taillights, but not completely black. Just a very slight smoke that probably wouldn't be noticeable to most people.

Looks great .. if you find you cant solve the brightness loss issue you could do a partial tint like I did.

Why didn't you just do a very light smoke to the headlights too, then you wouldn't have this problem!!

That's real dark. Looks good but I would probably never do that on an AM. If I had an NBP, I'd definitely consider this mod.

btw jesstzn i was thinkin on maybe cutting my rockblocker headlight tint to just cover the amber.. howd you do yours?

Dude...your TL looks omninous. I have one suggestion for you to consider. Your front license plate breaks up the look of the nose of your car. You might consider taking off the license plate to keep everything lookin' black.

I had them on for two days. Passed a lot of cops since they hang out in front of my school. None of them seemed to care.

Get a lighter tint, I put the 60% that bluebat has and I love the look and they are funtional for protection of the headlights.
