It should be the same way KJ....you just connect the wire (from the sidemarker) to the blinking wire on the rear indicator....
rear indicator has 2 wires, power and ground....so you will connect to the power wire....

Hi Swoosh,
Thanks for all the effort you put into this project! I was going to attempt to do the DIY threads on this but waited when you put this project out there. One question, if I am starting from stock sidemarkers, do I need to add resistors to prevent hyperblinking-like the previous DIY threads on this? Thanks, ib

^^^ well it depends if you have LED's upfront and back....
the only thing which affects the blinking is the LED's....so if you have bulbs upfront and in the back then i think it will be fine.....also if you have LED's upfront and back and you have already put a load resistor(s) to avoid the hyperblink, in that case you will be fine as well....hope that answers your question

Thanks swoosh. I think my question is more related to just the side markers in general from usr. On the website it says that the rear are not a direct fit on a type s. Sounds like it has to do with a 3 pin connector vs a 2 pin connector on the base model, or something along those lines.

i will be installing these on Steven Bell's Type S....will take pix and post a video as well...that might help you Type S folks....
just so that we are on the same page, you guys have a 3 pin connector on the OEM rear sidemarker ? coz the USR one's are 2 PINS with a wire coming out.....

Aaron, did you see Simon's thread in the main 3G forum? Check it out:
Thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/usr-switchback-led-side-marker-light-official-release-858567/
EDIT: Actually, that post is a little vague. If you wire it that way to be red "all the time", will it still be a switchback or will it be a traditional, non-blinking sidemarker?
There are people who does not want REAR to be WHITE LED, worry not, use tap splice to simply tap the extra positive wire on the back of the new switchback side marker to tap into the original side marker's positive wire from the car, then you will have it light up RED all the time.

They might arrive tomorrow. Anil and I will be working on the Aspec Kit tomorrow night. We might be able to tackle the Side Markers too.

Ebelp has done it on his type s and wrote a DIY with pics... I'm on my iPad right now or I'd give you guys the link
I can't wait for mine to get here!
Edit:
I can't wait for mine to get here!
Edit:
USR Switchback Sidemarker Mod:
Wiring these up was a cinch, although it is much different for Type-S TL's compared to the base models. I tried to go by Anil's youtube vids, but they do not apply to the Type-S at all.
Front side markers:
-Base TL - You tap into the middle turn signal harness wire on both sides according to Anil.
-Type-S - On the passenger side you tap into the white wire, and on the driver's side, you tap into the red wire with the blue stripe...neither of which are in the middle.
Rear side markers:
-Base TL - According to Anil, you tap into the red wire for the switchback indicator to work.
-Type-S - On the passenger side, you tap into the white wire. On the driver's side, you tap into the red wire.
IN ADDITION, for you Type-S drivers, the rear side marker harnesses do not fit the USR harness connector out of the box. You have to put your Dremeling skills to work.
Comparison (USR switchback on top, OEM Type-S below):
Modified USR harness connector:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9vYEyNQgKs
(in the vid the rears look a little amber'ish when they blink, but they're red...it's just my iPhone playing tricks)
Now...I have a bone to pick with Anil because these new switchback side markers were supposed to be 6k white as compared to the 5k white of the previous non-switchback versions. Many of us have LED switchback for our front turn signals that only come in 6k white, so it was very important for me (and others) that these new side markers be 6k white so everything would match. Unfortunately, these new side markers are NOT 6k white as promised. They are the exact same 5k white as the previous version. This is fine for most people, and it's not a huge difference, but it is definitely noticeably different compared to our 6k front turn signals (photos don't show the difference, it's more obvious to the naked eye). The main reason I bought these new switchback side markers was because we were told they would be 6k white, so I'm pretty disappointed that they aren't.

V2
Hmmmmmm I believe I got the V2 switch backs in the front the ones that run white n blink amber but r white-amber-white-amber.
Someone needs to come out with the white-amber-white-amber for these side markers and red-red-red-red for the rear or atleast white-red-white-red.
Its keeping me from buying these as it might look weird to have alot of different lights especially when the fronts go white-amber-white-amber but the sider markers go off-amber-off-amber
