nice how did you mount the camera on the side of your car like that? also what shutter speed, aperture and ISO setting was it on?

i used bungee cords, tied them around the strap, and latched the cords around the metal "neck" of the rear headrest.

i then closed the door, laid the camera flat on the bottom edge of the rear quarter window, all the while having a folded microfiber towel to prevent the camera from scratching and sliding.

Its a canon rebel XT. ISO 200 and all shots were taken at 8 seconds shutter-priority AE, with the lens set to manual focus.

Very nice! The camera mount sounds very interesting haha maybe I'll try it out once too. Hmmm if you have noise in night pics isn't that because you're using too high of an ISO setting? You might want to lower the ISO and increase fstop ... I think @___@

I had the camera set to ISO 200 due to an earlier Evo shoot last week, and forgot to set it to ISO 100 (usually my default setting when taking night shots). Ive been doing a lot of night pics but this was the first time I tried mounting the camera outside the car while driving at around 40mph. thank goodness the microfiber towel didnt fall of and the camera scratch the car

i dont know if you guys already saw, but i also ninja'd a mounting spot where the child seat harness goes on the rear shelf to get these night shots a while back:

go with the lowest ISO speed you can get away with. ISO 100 is the best. and when you mount the camera, put as much padding (if possible, like in my case i used a microfiber towel) to act as a buffer for the vibration inherent when the car is moving.

you should photoshop something in the nav screen, a still image would be sick with all the movement around
