slurpee03's Progress Thread

Hi everyone, I got my TL at around June of last year, which I was lucky enough to get as my first car. After driving my dad's 2003 Toyota Sienna and my mom's 2012 Toyota Highlander, driving the relatively fast and compact TL makes me so grateful . Even my dad drives my car whenever he can . I mostly spend my time on this website looking at what other people have done and building my own wish list of mods.

I met another active member on here who lives in Irvine like me, and it has basically inspired me to earn some money in order to be able to do some of the awesome mods he has made.

So this thread serves to myself the purpose of encouraging me to accomplish some mods in the near future and being able to show them off here!

Installed Mods
- LED domes, license, doors, trunk, vanity
- HID reverse lights
- iSimple aux system
- debadged trunk
- plasti-dipped front and rear emblems

Future Mods
- exhaust (stage 3?)
- new rims

Enough talk! Let's see pics!

07/16/12 - After a good wash and wax. (Yes I got it from an Infiniti dealer)

11/22/12 - Took it near my house for fun when I was coming home late one night. (I realize my license plate would be great for a Subaru)

Thanks! By the way, if you guys have any suggestions for inexpensive mods then please let me know.

But I can always go back and do some more searching haha.

Thanks, and how would you suggest I get a drop? Buy springs or is that a different matter?

Nice Ride! I agree with the above comments regarding wheels.....maybe pick up some 17" stockies. A nice inexpensive mod would be the Progress rear sway bar. ~$150

Welcome from another SoCal owner! I used to play soccer in irvine but now I live in SD. Was the other member you talked to princelybug?

If you decide on dropping the car go straight to coilovers. I, like many others that bought springs, eventually went to coilovers and could have saved many by realizing that haha. Get springs if money is very tight though.

For minor updates consider changing your shift knob, painting your brakes or adding a caliper cover, cleaning your exhaust tips with barkeepers friend, and for any performance mods start with the j-pipe!

Good luck!

I think magnaflow would provide a nice throaty sound, however the deeper dynomax sound is the one I'm looking at.

Haha cool, but no it wasn't princelybug, it was another guy around the same age as me. And thanks for the advice on coilovers, it'll probably save me some time and money sometime soon.

Thanks for the advice! About the rims, I'm just worried I won't get much money from selling the current ones since I'm pretty sure the previous owner problably got them for free...

Thanks for the comments everyone! Unfortunately, this may be more of a picture thread than a progress thread for a few months.

I happen to be at UCI regularly and I took some pictures at the top of one of their parking garages the other night.
