in the rare situation, where i do get pulled over n the cop says i pulled you over for not having a front plate. i'll act surprised ...get out of the car and walk to the front and be like, "oh, officer (throw my hands up). i'm sorry, i just came from a photoshoot (or some other bs excuse) and i forgot to flip my license plate back up before i left."

then i'll flip it up, he'll see that i have it properly displayed. i'll continue to tell him that i honestly just forgot to put it back up, and that it won't happen again. he'll give me a warning and set me free. (<that's how it goes in my perfect real world scenario )

but like i said, i know plenty of people in my area who don't have front plates and have never once had a problem. i hope to fall into that same category. i also feel confident that i can talk my way out of it, i've done it numerous times before in other situations. let's just hope my luck hasn't run out yet!
haha that might actually work. It's funny bc I actually have a new oem plate mount in my car still in the plastic, and I have my "excuse" all played out in my head for when/if I get pulled over also:

"Sorry officer, see I have my plate bracket right here, but the dealership sent me the wrong mounting bolts, and I'm waiting for them to send me the correct ones in the mail. I should have them in the next day or so..."

Hopefully I can get away with that...hehe.

j/k...good luck to you man! i think a lot of it depends on what kind of day the cop is having.

if he just won a scratchoff ticket for $500 an hour before he noticed that you don't have a front plate...i'm sure he'll let you slide. if he caught his wife cheating on him the night before, i don't think any excuse will work and you'll be given a ticket instantly.

You also have to be careful because if you give the cop an excuse for not having a license plate. He might give you a ticket for tint or something else. there's no winning.

some of you may remember this thread...https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/what-would-tl-owner-do-792182/...where i found out my rear bumper had been replaced prior to me purchasing the car.

turns out the bumper was aftermarket, so no markings to drill the holes.

i had to measure like 20 times to make sure i was drilling in the right spot. it was nerveracking, but it in the end everything turned out great.

i didn't get a chance to install the roof spoiler bc of the weather, i'll do that on wednesday. i didn't get a chance to hardwire the valentine1/concealed display bc i ran out of time. and i'm going a different route with the front license plate idea as well.

ugh...dood you have no idea. it was shitty bc i did the front and was like "damn, that wasn't so bad...then did the sides and was like "damn, that was simple...then got to the rear and was like "........."

it's to be expected tho, nothing ever goes as smooth as you think it will. one cool thing about adding the aspec kit is that it hid a bunch of bumper rash on the front, and hid some scuffs on the rear bumper. i just wish my whole car was as clean as the paint on the kit lol

i know i know...i always feel like a jackass going somewhere alone and taking pictures of my car tho. i need to set something up with some locals around here n do it proper.

i've been going back n forth on that idea. a part of me likes the clean debadged look, another part of me wants people to know what kind of car i drive. idk what to do.

Don't worry they'll know what it is just from the growl coming from those quad tips.

Haha....looks great as always man!! Have you thought about tinting the turn signals on the side mirrors? I think it would match your theme nicely!

well i still need bumper plugs for the left n right hole. the middle hole up top (where the dealer drilled) is still there. i used a little bit of touchup paint and its not very noticeable, but i still need to figure out a way to cover it completely.

yeah that's probably true. ugh...i don't even want to imagine what it'll sound like after i install the v3 pcds. it's loud enough as is.

i may debadge in the future. wanna photoshop for me?

thanks donnie.

and yeah i bought a bunch of 20%/60% tint strips from Ack a while back, just haven't put them on yet. i plan on doing the fogs, side mirrors, side markers, and rear reverse lights. not sure which grade tint i wanna go with tho, i don't wanna block too much light output on the fogs or reverse. maybe i'll do 60% on mirrors, and 20% on everything else, i dunno.

If you want people to know what you drive then do what I did. For my car I took of the "Acura" and the "TL" and left the Type-S because I liked it... I think that everybody recognizes the TL... for me the Type-S is the special part.

I have it wired to light up when I turn the lights on.

when you take off the emblems use a piece of dental floss or a fishing line and have a blow dryer to heat them up. the more you heat it up the less residual glue will be left. just clean up the rest with goo gone.

20% is very dark and reduces alot of light.

Fogs and mirrors with 20%

Double layered 20%

thanks for the tip.

can you send me a wiring schematic so that i know which ones to tap into for the amp'd emblem?

yeah i'm going back n forth with it...i'll most likely end up taking everything off. i feel like a little type-s badge will look out of place all by itself.

wow thanks for those pics. i think i'll do 60% on everything at this point. i want it to be subtle...not dark.

i see some new wheels......wrap them already!

All you have to do is tap the license lights and your set.

oh yeah you don't have to drill any holes either cause the wire passes thru the existing hole for the emblem. I put up a daytime pic in the other thread from yesterday go check it out.
