SCS15's Progress Thread

It looks like nowadays most members have progress threads and being a member for around 3 years now i thought I should start one.

I purchased my 2004 TL w/ Nav back in 2008 with about 60k miles on it and caught a pretty good deal for the combo I wanted. There were only about 3 colors I was interested in having and AM was at the top of my list and black interior is a must for any cars I've owned. The only thing i was looking for besides that was 6MT but I searched for months and couldnt find anything.

In the 3 years ive owned it, its been through a few phases. I dont think i have a picture of it bone stock but AZ's influence caused the mod bug to hit instantly. Ordered jnc blackout v2 with zkw-r's with phillips 85122+ bulbs, rotora bbk and aem v2.

After seeing all the forum guys rocking the atlp quads and type s rear aspecs and such i fell for that look. I decided to get the full type-s aspec, front bumper, grill, and decklid, and had to have everything painted AM. I paired all that with xlr8 quads, rv6 test pipe and v2 j-pipe.

Then, kind of lost interest in modding for awhile and was tired of dropping thousands on mods and still not fully enjoying the car. I had over 5,000 in mods between the bbk, exhaust and all the type s parts. I decided to pick up a Yamaha R6 and was riding EVERYWHERE...

Started modding the bike and had full Leo Vince Exhaust, Power commander 5, BMC filter, Yamaha solo seat cowl, Zero Gravity Windshield, AGV Levers, etc...

But during that time, it hurts to say but the car went into a steep decline. Someone backed up into my driver side causing damage to both my doors, my gf damaged the passenger rear quarter panel in NYC, someone got too close and cracked my front bumper in a parking lot and someone stole my type s decklid spoiler from in front of my house !! Enough was enough and I knew it was time to bring my baby back.

These are teaser pics for now since its not completed yet heres the current progress...

Whole Car Repaint
HT-Spec Type 1's
Axis Pentagons 19x8.5, 19x9.5
Hankook V12 Evo's
McGuard Wheel Locks
New Front Bumper
New Front Aspec
New Type-S Spoiler
Color matched Grill and trunk piece
Painted Black Roof
Painted Black Aspec Lowers
20% tints all around
And an empty wallet

Hope you guys enjoyed my progress thus far and are as excited as I am to see the finished results!

Yea its come a long way. I originally dumped like 5-6 grand into it and parted out some parts and got some money back and just recently dumped like another 7 into it. I keep telling myself I could have purchased a different car for all the money i wasted, but I know my car also wasnt worth a penny with all the damage.

Its good to see you're breathing life back into your car!!

On another note, I completely understand the R6 thing. I was always into bikes, and at one point, I was a hair away from picking up a blue one myself. They're AMAZING fun!

Finally back from the body shop. All in all took about 4 weeks from start to finish. Quick iPhone pics before I try and shoot some better ones.

The pics suck and doesn't show the true color but its a tiny bit darker than factory AM and there is a ton more metallic in the paint. The last pic coloring looks off.

Yea I plan on taking the plate off but I dont want to deal with those tickets again. And I think the retarded shop drilled in with a tapping screw to mount the holder. Exhaust tips are gettin polished as soon as I can find barkeepers. Local auto store carries the worst products.

What's wrong with a black plate frame?

It's so worth it if you plan on keeping the car for awhile.
