Hello folks, its been a while...I lost interest in my NBP TL a while back, it started having little issues here and there and over time I didn't want to put the time into it like I did before. Mechanically, its been excellent, and to be honest, I still enjoy driving it very much. I've grown to love the TL over the 5 years of ownership. Being my only car, it's reliable, spacious and looks great, makes great mileage, ect., all around, a very nice car. My most recent photoshoot with it was in January...
So for a while I was toying with the idea of a new car or sucking it up and saving my money because really, nothing is wrong with it. I toyed with the idea of an S2000, an FRS, and a new Accord. While all are great choices, an S2000 wouldn't be a great daily for me because I drive far and in traffic for work, it's not spacious and I'd hate to rack up so many miles on such a great car. The FRS was appealing because it was a bit roomier, no soft top to worry about, work discount and it was a sports car. The Accord was appealing because it's a familiar platform but probably the most expensive. So after a lot of back and forth I decided, just stop looking, pay off your car and then fix the small things that need to be taken care of and enjoy it.
However...Jeremy, who I've become very great friends with had just picked up his CTS-Vagon and was looking to sell the KBP Type-S. I didn't think much of it for a while, until my girlfriend thought about buying it, but decided she would like something else. A few more weeks passed and I started heavily considering the thought of a 6MT KBP that was excellently maintained by a close friend, the idea made sense to me and only fortified what I was thinking about the other cars mentioned earlier. I can't have a small car because it'll be my only car and I wasn't looking to be making higher payments than what I was already doing with the NBP TL.
So after talking some more with Jeremy, I decided to set things in motion, I paid off my NBP and got some other things sorted out and set off to Jeremy's on a Saturday morning. I got there and we almost immediately took off in the KBP so I could get familiar with driving manual, as I never have before other than in a parking lot. Jeremy drove us to an empty office area and set me loose. I drove it for about 15-20 minutes and returned to his house. We hung out for a while and then made the exchange. I drove it home August 27th.
Since then, I've been enjoying it and trying to get used to manual. As many of you may know, it has a stage 3 clutch, lightweight flywheel and pulley. It's quite a handful for a beginner.
As of yesterday, I used my gf's garage to wash, clay, seal and wax it, which took me...7 HOURS. I'm still exhausted but it was well worth it, the paint looks excellent, it's now nice and smooth and protected from the elements. I'd also like to mention Chemical Guys for their amazing products, their sealant and wax was very easy to apply and remove.
And today...I did the KBP's first photo shoot. Enjoy!
Wow! This car is a major upgrade from the NBP. The wheels look great on there. I'm really happy you snagged this car up. I know you're going to take great care of it and make it your own. I'm looking forward to following your progress with it.

I washed it, clay bar, sealed wheels with Jet Seal 109 and then sealed the car, then waxed it.
I'm not too sure,, it was tinted when I bought it...gotta be somewhere between 20-25%.
Listen you peasants...
that's the sound of the ladies' panties dropping when the engine turns over.
okay, for real doe...the new starter made that noise, I was told it is the teeth needing to kinda wear down to match the grooves in the lightweight flywheel. It got quieter during the time that I had it.
