This is the result of 6 years of being anal...

clay every 6 months, polish and wax every 2 weeks. 6 years old, factory paint

waxes used:

eagle one nano wax for first 2 years
meguiars gold class next 2 years
meguiars ultimate wax rest

used meguiars cleaner waxes throughout

You're polishing every two weeks for SIX YEARS? God have mercy on your clear coat...

If you were as anal as you say you are, you would use a polymer sealant(long term durability & protection) rather than a wax (short term for looks).

i meant wax every two weeks, polish every month (or when paint starts looking dull) sorry

I used a polymer sealant from meguiars (M21) to lock in the shine. but since its white and my daily driver, it gets a lot of road exposure.

Alright, I don't think our soft Acura paint could take a polishing every 2 weeks. I am on a 6 month polishing schedule. Same with claying. Hit up the wash and wax section...there is a preferred wax for WDP cars that really gives the WDP a ton of depth. I believe it is Klasse or Duragloss, I don't remember which. I used Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant on my NBP and I love it.

I was like that with my TL when I bought it and then the accidents started rolling in and I was like eff it. Now, I just get the courtesy wash and vac from Priority Acura whenever I get my oil change. FML.

OP, your car looks good though. Very well kept.

i agree. one time I asked a friend who details and he brought a paint thickness gauge to see how thick the paint was in some areas. some were really thin. all the polishing I did though, was mostly the front and rear bumpers (bug and tar from the front, exhaust soot in the rear). the side and roof/hood didnt really need much polishing. plus I did everything by hand. never had a machine, but Im thinking of taking actual classes on how to use machine buffers. i figured its about time I stepped up

The times have changed. There are dual action random orbital buffers now that have a very very light learning curve. I taught my girlfriend how to do a panel of my car within a half hour. Very easy to do with great results.

Looks great! I wish my paint looked that good still. I guess it doesn't help that I have been hit while parked 4 times lol

Good thing you checked before you submitted this thread.

"This is the result of 6 years of doing anal..."

It looks good but some pics with better lighting would be better

oh i have rock chips too, especially my bumper. its just the rest of the paint is near-factory mint. nothing i can do with rock chips from the road, although there isnt as many since if I see a gravel truck on the freeway, i merge on to the fast lane and get the hell outta there!

nice

looks as good as my paint. i have ZERO scratches and NEVER had swirls on my TL. i'm going on 7+ yrs with my TL (yes, since she was a baby ). so i understand the OCD upkeep it takes to keep the car looking brand new.

as careful I try to take of my car-things happen. My car was rear-ended while I was stopped at a redlight. Even tho it was repaired excellent it is still considered damaged. Do you clean or wipe down the engine bay (compartment) I do. I get compliments on that when I take my car for service.

I do clean the insides of the doors, trunk and engine bay. I recently started using this from Meguiar's:

i swear it made the entire engine bay look super factory new. it definitely restored the faded color of the plastics back to their original condition. and the plus is that its non greasy or oily. ill take pics in daylight so you will see. definitely worth it.
