The test pipe is made to fit factory/aftermarket J-pipe and factory/aftermarket exhaust, which ever combination of the two you might have, call me silly but i think the drilling could have been avoided if the installer had turned the test pipe 180 degrees, observing from this picture.

^^ To clarify, the side that is bolted to the exhaust pipe should be bolted to the j-pipe and vise versa.

I think you're right...and you've done the install...to the untrained eye, it's a perfect triangle of bolts on both sides, but it's SNOT.

^^ Just realized that the drilling was only done to the gasket,or so I am hoping. Sigh of relief indeed, even though the exhaust is his now but I told him I'll cut him if he ever cut the exhaust J/k

where did you get the gasket that fit?
i'm installing a used HFC (3rd cat) and I don't have any gaskets, XLR8 told me to just use hi temp red rtv silicone but a gasket will make me feel better on one side. i can't get OEM gaskets cuz they are just circular gaskets (donuts).

the pic of your test pipe is installed correctly. one side near the exhaust is an equilateral triangle and the one for the jpipe is a "tall" triangle. the gaskets you bought will only fit the exhaust side (equilateral). where did you get that gasket?

^^ Yes, also, the gasket should fit if you flip it, no need to drill, I know this as I got a couple back when I installed my RV6 resonated test pipe, its just tricky to get the ride side on.

Test pipe fits perfectly, it's the gasket that doesn't

The product code we gave to napa fits only to rear side of the test pipe
Front is different
Got it?
Front of the test pipe is different than rear, but matches perfectly to the stock J-Pipe
Meaning, stock J-pipe and ATLP exhaust has different, diameter whatever, shape of that connection part...

Although for the front we drilled the gasket so bolt could go through, middle section fits perfectly to the pipe diameter... No problem on installing it

But I didn't compare both ends of the test pipe. Thought it was equal, came out it's not

Cat back side has all equal corners, J-pipe side of the Test pipe has 2 equal sides, and one side is straight

Dude which one was this you gave me? ATLP or XLR8?

See the bottom part of the test pipe? One side is straight, just like the stock J-Pipe
Other side, top side of the Test pipe is all same, non straight triangles, which matches to ATLP catback

And do you see my gasgets on the right? Non has a straight side, so both were for between the Test pipe and Catback section

You got the ATLP test pipe.

The orientation of the triangle is made to fit OEM J-pipe and OEM exhaust. The after market J-pipe and after market exhaust are made to have the same orientation of the triangle piece as their OEM counterparts. Meaning that it doesnt matter what you have i.e. ATLP, XLR8, OEM or RV-6. You should be able to bolt their components together.

The gasket in the back is no different than the gasket in the front. So all this means is that those two gaskets can be used with OEM j-pipe and 3rd cat, in either case you would have had to flip/rotate them to align them with all the holes, no need to drill.

Nontheless, what you did works too.

P.S. Our conversation yesterday suggested you to be a video person, yet I dont see one

sockr1,

No idea about the diameters, the guy measured it there and found the perfect size from the book

The ones that we got for the test pipe is 31589
and for the catback, it's 31336, again he measured it and found it, matched perfectly.

You need 3 quantity for the catback though

I made the check engine light go on again
Fuh it, tranny shifts ok
If I floor it on D and it takes the gear to 2nd or something... then it screws up but, in SS mode it's all good

On highway, this thing sounds so nice impossible to go slow damn it
Austin, don't buy this exhaust, you no go fast
For slow driving it's not that great if you ask me... plus you have RV6 J-pipe

Faruk, I did record a video on the way home but forgot the camera inside the car, lazy to go to garage

Tothe? Tyler, don't you have any drone inside the cabin? I know you have the J-Pipe too, all ATLP...
No drone at all? You have non res too

Jeremy, you need these tips
or
If you can't find it, don't go near them or see them in person... don't

Car drives smooth as hell, performance difference is like night and day
Exhaust has an amazing tone, just like what I wanted and on highway, you just can't stop hitting the high RPM. I don't use 5th gear anymore
No matter that rpm or gear, no drone nor rasp at outside, only tone (at city driving)
Cabin drone a little but it's ok, if I was going for a comfort mode, would've taken out the engine mounts first of all...

I have some drone but I don't mind it. Cruising in 5th gear <2k it's basically silent unless you give it gas and put the engine under load. With spending that kind of money I wanted to be able to hear it, so I'm very happy with the setup. I have ATLP V2 J-Pipe, ATLP Race Pipe, non-resonated ATLP Base.

I don't like the I-93 one, because it's big, too many car sounds and hard to hear your car

Great pix brother....the minute I saw the pix on the phone I was like

Love how the tips fill up the base aspec lip opening....and JNC had it coated/silicone sprayed which is awesome....

To reduce the drone, I would just suggest wrap the exhaust a little by little....so wrap the jpipe and test pipe with DEI titanium wrap and spray it high heat silicone....

drone/tone can be changed by altering the flow of the exhaust pulses....maybe by wrapping the exhaust and keeping the pulses "hotter" they will flow quicker and will reduce the drone....

I wudnt wrap the exhaust since its already coated and looks effin SICK !!!

I didn't hit the logan tunnel yet but was recording a long highway video, but all of a sudden camera turned off. Thought it saved it. Got home and saw that it didn't
I just can't stop flooring it on highway, you were right

Gawdamit, how about any exhaust place or shop? Is there places like that to create an exhaust tip haha

Thanks J.

I know bro, Thanks to JnC for spaying even the inside tips to black. Looks so clean and oemishhh

Dude drone gets louder when exhausts gets hot
Naaah, won't touch the exhaust. Just want to get some knowledge.

How about putting an performance vibrant resonator right after the test pipe?

In logic sense, no matter what it would reduce performance compared to as it is right now???

Students are coming back
Rich bastids
R8 was stick shift too dammit

Wasn't a fan of IS but I like this one
Rear reminded me of ISF, the way the bumper sits on the road
Front? Bad if you buy a dark color one, because of the leds are being exactly same as the old one, I thought it was the old IS from my rearview mirror

And and I am keep thinking this thing is the new RDX at first
